They explain how newly added definitions of commercial, industrial and mixed use can unlock eligibility, even on properties historically zoned for agriculture, which enables administrative approvals at maximum local density and height when affordability thresholds are met. This conversation also clarifies what mixed-use means for professionals wanting to meet the requirements of the Live Local Act, as well as new provisions such as "YIGBY" (Yes in God's Backyard), which allows for faith-owned sites to seek approval for Live Local if 10 percent of their units are affordable. Mr. Gassant and Mr. Cetoute additionally talk about limits on using height bonuses and improved grandfathering of tax benefits.

The extraordinary development of international justice over the past century and in recent years has ushered in the norm of non-impunity, even for the world's strongmen. Some argue, however, that the system is now broken and that things are going backwards.

Many of the worst crimes – in Ukraine, Gaza, and elsewhere -- remain unpunished. Steve Crawshaw, author of Prosecuting the Powerful: War Crimes and the Battle for Justice, in conversation with Denisa Kostovicova, addresses the challenges and ways forward.

Steve Crawshaw is former UK director at Human Rights Watch, former director of the Office of the Secretary-General at Amnesty International and former chief foreign correspondent at the Independent. He is the author of books on Russia, Germany, and creative protest. His latest book, Prosecuting the Powerful (Bridge Street Press) was published in February 2025.

Denisa Kostovicova (@DenisaKost) is Professor of Global Politics at the LSE European Institute. She is a leading scholar of conflict and peace processes, and the author of Reconciliation by Stealth: How People Talk about War Crimes and Kosovo: The Politics of Identity and Space. Professor Kostovicova has also edited a number of volumes on post-conflict reconciliation, justice and civil society. Professor Kostovicova’s award-winning academic research has informed policy making at the EU, UN, and in the UK.

come off sad and mournful, revealing vulnerability, will come off strong, with me, a healthy man, almost boasting. I will not insult him, but I will draw that distinction.
There's something on the tip of my tongue, some point that was very important that got lost in all of that.
If I had to place him as a character, he would be the creator God, he always seemed to know everything, see everything. At Kingston, we chattered to each other laughing as it went ary. ah yes, now i remember, I made a joke, yes, that was it. At Kingston in the ward, when I was crying for my wife and son. He was talking about his BMW, and something about, I think people were saying he glows in the dark. Styx had sent his minions to bother and annoy him during his stream. I was leading the charge, I was pissed off at him that day, for annoying Styx. He was warning people his usual schpiel, you can comment here, and i won't ban you for ideas, only being an insulting jerk. And people were saying he glowed in the dark (was a government spy/asset, possible actually, i wouldn't be surprised) and I said: "Scott probably does glow in the dark,
and so does his BMW."

"He read out the comment up to the "so does" part, then his face twisted into visible annoyance.

He immediately reached down like Michelangelo's Creation of Adam, and pressed the block button. Valid I think, a fair move. I was being a jerk. And with that one move, he acknowledged that I exist to him. He was at least tangentially aware of a pest in his comments section known as me. I ended up, either deleting that account, or I think that was the banned one, the youtube channel youtube lightninged.
