Lemons came out of a place of mental noise and that constant back-and-forth we all do—trying to make decisions, trying to figure out what actually matters. It’s about frustration, nostalgia, and feeling like you're stuck waiting for life to mean something. It’s not polished or tied up neatly, just an honest look at where my head’s been.

Shall we list ‘em all then, Taid?

Mm. Might take all night, little star.

Oranges and lemons, say the seagulls in Tenby,
You laughed so loud, you dropped your 99 on me.
We chased the tide, you got sunburned red,
I wore your hat and you wore my ted.

We built a sand fort, it fell with the sea,
You said “Queen of Wales? Sounds right to me.”
Flip flops snapped, the chips were hot,
That day in Tenby? Loved it a lot.

Fog rolls gentle through morning in Risca,
Little feet tap wood floor, whispering “pappa?”
Tea in hand, you in my coat,
Steam on the window, sheep on the slope.

We walked the hill with sun behind,
You said “the mist makes ghosts, but kind.”
Streetlamps blinked in evening’s hush,
That’s where I learned what quiet means “much.”

Here come the places, gentle and bright,
Names in the dusk and towns in the night.
Oranges and lemons, bells in the breeze,
We carry them softly, like whispers through trees.

Spring came early in Helston one year,
You danced with that dog and spilled your beer.
We saw daffodils by the stonewall gate,
You said “that’s the town where your Gran met fate.”

I found a pebble shaped like a heart,
You told me “Some magic just knows where to start.”
The air smelled like bread and Sunday rain,
Helston days? Would do ‘em again.

In Liskeard, mornings start cold and grey,
But you found joy in the simplest way.
Pasties warm wrapped in butcher’s paper,
You said “It’s snowin’ crumbs, Taid! Major!”

We sat on the wall and watched the shop,
Trains rolled past and your jaw didn’t stop.
You asked if birds ever get bored of the sky,
I just said “Never,” and let the thought fly.

You remember Waxholm? Ferry bell ringin’,
We had that cinnamon roll, you just kept singin’.
Sea was calm, sky was flat and pale,
We held hands quiet without any tale.

I leaned on your coat, you whispered “this—
Is what home is, and always was, miss.”
Not much happened but I remember it clear,
Your quiet smile, your silence near.

In Jämtland, the snow came down in sheets,
You wore boots two sizes too big on your feet.
We lit a lantern, walked past the pine,
You held my hand and said “Don’t let go this time.”

We fed the fire, and watched it glow,
You tried to catch flakes in your cocoa.
I still see your face lit up in the light,
Jämtland, stjärna, you shone that night.

Here come the places, wrapped up in rhyme,
Echoes of laughter across space and time.
Oranges and lemons, snowflakes and sea,
The bells of our journey still ring in me.

We been lots of places, yeah?

And we carry them with us, alltid.

I've always liked writing and had an appreciation for all genres of music.  I had a lot of stuff written down over the years from relationships to the past and lifes experiences. Through this I'm finding I can write song lyrics then putting them into a form that I feel best suits what I'm writing about. No fixed genre as yet. Just finding my way in the hope that one day an artist might find a diamond in the rough and want to record it. These are demo's of where I see the lyrics sitting in song form. We can all dream.
