"Perfect Plans and Paint-Stained Hands" follows two friends from graduation through their contrasting approaches to pursuing dreams. Through parallel narratives, it explores how Jenny's perfect preparation and Marie's messy action yield vastly different results. While Jenny carefully plans each step, highlighting success books and waiting for perfect conditions, Marie stumbles forward, creating art from her mistakes and rejections. The song weaves their stories together to reveal how sometimes the messy path of doing leads to more than the pristine path of planning. Inspired by the contrast between dreamers and doers, it shows how the sacred act of creating happens in the chaos of now, not in the perfect plans of someday.

“The Way” draws on scripture and evokes Robert Frost to plumb a deeper truth: that at life’s forks in the road, the voice of God whispering in our ears is not only concerned with discernment—helping us know which path to choose. It’s a reminder of who we are and whose we are and how we live because of it. Life is full of choices that don’t come with clear answers, and sometimes any choice will really do. No matter which road you take (or even if you take a break right there), a voice told you to “Walk this way.”
