This piece is based on the labyrinth located on the outskirts of Västerås (Sweden). This place is frozen in time from the Viking era and emanates a mystical feeling, as well as the loneliness and uncertainty that are characteristic of liminal spaces, transition spots allocated for change.

On “The Labyrinth,” Lux Coven crafts a poetic descent into the subconscious, blending ancient symbology with cybernetic mysticism. The song uses haiku-like verses to guide listeners through a dreamscape of hidden maps, forgotten bloodlines, and truth encrypted in flesh.

Two Hundred and Twenty Three episodes ago, two evil baddies were defeated and now an angry relative wants to play games with the Cheap Chaps. They’ve got 90 minutes to solve riddles, race around Crystal Palace Park, diffuse “bombs” and get increasingly more drunk and angry in the process! Along the way, Eli and Paul will tackle dinosaurs, hunt for a gorilla, drink nasty cheap cocktails and get pathetically lost in a maze! Will the day be saved, or will the CheapShow hosts get too tired and drunk to remember the plot?

Ep 445: Walk Hard With A Vengeance (Mono Edition)

A longer, less minimal mix of “C02” (nothing to do with climate btw) compared to original version soon to be released on most streaming services (check buy link). 

This mix has 3 lfo’s controlling the japanese vox sample I used (Octatrack) and 2 Moog Mavis S&H signals connected to bit flip inputs 1 &2 of the Moog Labyrinth. Only used 5 synthesizers here: Labyrinth, Micro modular, ER-1, DRM-1 & Cycles

This is fresh:) Had another version lined up and ready but recorded this yesterday and decided to upload it as my next release (16.08.25). Only a cut mp3 version here, the original is 10.10 minutes;-) Moves at 138 bpm. Play loud!

Technical note: Almost same set up as previous C track except the random Lfo:ed vox patch courtesy of an Arturia Microfreak + occasional Mavis burts:)

Jam from scratch, as in: Everything is unpatched by the time I start the jam, no sequencers running or even connected to a shared clock, and all oscillators on init settings.

Brillman has been an electronic online musician during the last 20 years using many different names: Brillman, Controlfreak, freakcontrol, Red Karma, Atmosphere, Zero Loop, Pan64, Randomcontrol, geometric delay and Superfreak! Brillman mainly creates original sounds from hardware synths but also uses guitar, samplers, vocals or even poetry. He primarily utilizes a 4 to the floor approach. The aesthetics behind the music is about finding a balance between minimalism vs. depth & improvisation vs. programmed.

Fun Fact: 

"Pictureplane"(Travis Egedy), is a popular artist known for making his come up in the electronic music scene, DIY Venues, also popular for hanging around artists like "Grimes" and "Crystal Castles" in the early come up days of these artist, he is also the one who came up with the word "Witch House" which is a playful word on "House" music, though "Witch House" is now a popular music genre that is enjoyed by many.

"Crystal Castles" are actually one of the very first, if not the first electronic music duo to actually invent "Witch House" music, as you can hear dark beats and sorrow drawn out voices off of some of their early (demo songs/ Demo Album) dating back from "2007" and before that, which is crazy to think since during that time "Witch House" did not have a name for itself yet.
