“ELEVATING” is an indie R&B track about daydreaming a future with someone and feeling yourself rise with them — emotionally and spiritually. I wrote, produced, and performed everything myself, inspired by artists like Steve Lacy, Omar Apollo, Frank Ocean, and Blood Orange. Smooth guitars, warm bass, and laid back raw vocals capture that ‘rising together’ feeling.

Music runs deep in his roots. Influenced by his father, who was born and raised in the Virgin Islands, Black Earth 2k was introduced early on to the melodic and rhythmic traditions of the West Indies. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, he later found inspiration in the pulsating Philly club scene, where his love for house music took shape — a passion that shines through in his high-energy, uptempo dance tracks.
From a young age, Black Earth 2k recognized his gift for rhyme. What began as homemade mixtapes for schoolmates quickly evolved into a lifelong pursuit of musical excellence. Over the years, he has honed his craft into a multidimensional artistry that seamlessly blends poetic lyricism with infectious rhythms.
