Maelström est le fruit d'une expérience 100% collaborative. En effet, le duo ZYES est actuellement séparé géographiquement : Sami est à Montréal et Clément à Amiens (ville d'origine du duo). Ne souhaitant pas abandonner la création, ils se sont lancés sur Twitch afin de créer des morceaux avec leur communauté. Sur la base d'idées ou de contraintes imposées par leur public (ici, une gorgée de thé = snare), ZYES a créé ce 1er titre cathartique, à la fois lancinant et d'une énergie graduelle.
