BREAKING NEWS! Michael Angelaux's new Current Affair is a concept album that tells the story of a pop star that has been falsely accused of a crime. Heavily inspired by 1980's news media, daytime talk show gossip, and tabloid media, it is a critique on media sensationalism, cancel culture, and hive mentality viewed through a retro lens. Sonically, the record touches on synthpop, italo disco, Latin freestyle and vaporwave and is heavily steeped in 1980's club music.
