The song is “Darling, Save Your Love for Me”a timeless ballad written by Buddy Johnson in 1951 and made famous by Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley in their 1961 collaboration.
At its heart, this song is a bittersweet confession of longing for someone who isn’t good for you, but who your heart can’t seem to let go of. The lyrics are simple yet devastating and you know that you should run away but you simply do not.
It’s a plea wrapped in elegance. The lyric shows and knows that being with this person is probably a bad idea… but the emotional pull is too strong. It’s that classic tension between what the mind knows and what the heart wants something many of us can relate to.
Musically, the song blends soulful jazz phrasing with bluesy undertones, creating a sound that’s both intimate and haunting. This version, in particular, captures the vulnerability and restraint at the core of the song never too dramatic, but aching with every word.

Had a brilliant time the other day playing some bouncy yet layed back house tracks for opening an evening of dancing at one of my favourite venues in Hamburg: TurTur.

It's difficult to put me into one box — I move between genres, blending styles and moods.
