Italian producer and DJ POL100 delivers the fifth installment of Early Reflex’s Eyes Series with Eyes V, a two-track EP that blends spontaneous experimentation with a cinematic sense of space. Rooted in jungle and bass influences, the release moves fluidly between tribal pulse and mechanical tension, creating immersive soundscapes that unfold over broken rhythms and layered textures.
The opening track,“Machine Decay” layers mechanical, metallic textures over ethereal sounds, starting from a breakbeat foundation and gradually evolving into a more intricate sonic landscape.
“TRIBE”, is a tribal journey in a futuristic sense, built on broken rhythms and grooves that nod to UK sounds while maintaining emotional depth.

“Really” is a 160 BPM tribal jungle roller, pure breakbeat invocation from the undergrowth. This is skankable rainforest rave energy: heavy choppy drum breaks, raw 1993 UK jungle pressure, and percussion that sounds like it was recorded inside a bamboo temple at midnight. No synths. No vocals. Just rhythm, soul, and forest spirits in full motion.

Built with layers of classic breaks, Funky Mule, Hot Pants, Cold Sweat, Soul Pride, chopped, twisted, and rolled into lush jungle architecture. The percussion ensemble is fully ceremonial: Tanguu drums, djun djun rolls, coconut syncopation, talking drums, bongos, shakers, rattles, and cowbells form a textured, ritualistic backbone. Jungle ambience, vinyl crackle, and animal FX, including one mischievous parrot repeatedly squawking “Really!” — create a playful, immersive sound world.

This track embodies the core of Post-Jungle Bungalism, a sound philosophy that fuses rave energy with ritual funk, jungle’s raw chaos with tribal groove, and sound system culture with spiritual skank. It's not just music, it's rhythm as ceremony, a dancefloor transmission from the rainforest dimension.

Drunken Fist 🐉

In the misty mountain temples of the ancient provinces, there lived a forgotten master, Old Sage Kai, keeper of the Drunken Fist Riddim. Long ago, he traded discipline for divine groove, swapping sparring partners for sound systems and turning Shaolin forms into footwork funk.

They say he can’t walk straight but never misses a beat. With a flask of fermented peach wine in one hand and a cracked vinyl dubplate in the other, Kai shuffles, spins, and stumbles through the courtyard, looking like a madman, but striking with rhythm so sharp it makes dancers drop like dominoes.

His style blends broken kung fu stances with breakbeat syncopation, punctuated by slippery guzheng slides and chopped pipa plucks. Each stagger is a snare. Each sway is a sub. Behind him, a temple turned dancehall booms with ancient riddim energy, while paper lanterns sway to the groove like they’re nodding in approval.

"Drunken Fist" isn’t chaos, it’s controlled disarray, a celebration of asymmetry, groove, and sacred silliness. His mantra?

“Balance is for teapots, real style spills.”

Now, when the moon is full and the bass is heavy, locals whisper that if you skank just the right way, Master Kai might appear, wobbling through the smoke ready to show you a dancefloor technique that’s been banned for centuries.

Annebel is a producer and DJ based in Tilburg (Netherlands). After releasing
her debut track on the 3024 mentoring compilation in 2024, she freed up her
sound and let it grow in halftime territories. This resulted in her textured,
bass heavy debut EP on Sann Odea with 4 experimental electronic tracks
and a minimal remix by Beatrice M. to top it off.

The tracks were written while researching the work of British philosopher
Mark Fisher. Fisher infamously stated that no new music has been made
since the 2000s. Music innovation, a constant modernist driver of the sense
of the future, has also stagnated, leaving behind only 20th-century aesthetics
and samples reused in the 21st century. But instead of mourning the future,
Annebel explores different conceptions of newness by using various sample
techniques like granular synthesis and stretching field recordings, letting
past, present and future collide.
As the sounds and samples evolve in unrecognizable shapes through
modulation and re-playing, the concept of newness is expanded beyond
familiar forms, proposing that the sense of future is not created by an
aesthetic but through the friction of practice, play and reproduction.

Carmen Baía is a Glasgow-based DJ pushing eclectic, high-intensity sounds across the UK underground. Her sets flow between Latin-inspired percussion, jungle pressure, baile funk, and stripped-back house, creating a raw yet hypnotic energy on the dancefloor.

A longstanding resident with Breathe Glasgow and Radio Buena Vida, she has recently stepped onto bigger stages, including her debut at FLY Open Air. With sold-out shows in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and London, and appearances alongside Partiboi69, Chaos in the CBD, and Pangaea, Carmen has established herself as a rising force in the next wave of underground selectors.

Her instinctive approach to rhythm and fearless blend of styles make every set unpredictable, immersive, and deeply rooted in club culture.

Carmen weaves a high-voltage club narrative out of rubbery electro basslines, dry 808 knock, and tightly quantized drum machine patterns, sliding between skeletal, hypnotic minimalism and flashes of campy, maximal synth exuberance. She braids squelchy acid lines with robotic vocoder snippets, flickering hi-hats, and punchy claps, then offsets them with rolling toms and hand-percussion loops that add swing and propulsion. Gritty, slightly overdriven textures rub against bouncy, funk-laced grooves, while looped vocal fragments and elastic low-end pulses keep the mix playful rather than punishing. The result feels tactile and kinetic, a constant push-pull between mechanical precision and cheeky flamboyance, stitched together through rhythm-forward transitions and tightly controlled, body-first momentum.
