Phill Barrera es defensor de encontrar nuevos sonidos y guiar al público en el interminable viaje del autodescubrimiento a través de la música. Trabajando en los bordes de la escena musical underground de la Ciudad de México durante años, este actuario convertido en productor está comprometido en exponer a artistas locales y su comunidad ayudado de Salas Roma y Policrom Records, sus centros creativos.

Como DJ, ha desarrollado un gusto ecléctico que abarca electrónica de izquierda, ritmos latinos, techno y, a menudo, deriva hacia territorios más experimentales llenos de melodías sentimentales que se desarrollan en sets de combustión lenta.

Actualmente trabajando en sus lanzamientos debut solista y otros como parte del dúo Tumbacasas, con Policrom Records y su mitad Gabo Morfin, busca consolidar su lugar en la escena de la música electrónica de América Latina.

Product Toss joins the NHS for 'Plug Gulp' which follows suit as a 4-track walk through the springy, sonically-gouged production style that the Newcastle-based artist has offered to the electronica world over the past few years. Disparate in BPM, structure and inspiration, drawing idiosyncratically from Dubstep, UK Bass and UK Funky, yet the vibe is profoundly dynamic and versatile in it's engineering. Occupied with mid frequency hums and inflections, bouncing against tight, syncopated percussion made seemingly from hollowed out origins.

The journey across the collection follows the progression of mood and atmosphere akin to leftfield club music nightlife, with our artist drawing inspiration from their own experiences across many moments found only after-dark. A desire to capture the evolution of such track's natural habitat is what informed Product Toss throughout their conception, and the 4 tracks nestle comfortably into this space - Functional, DJ-ready tracks destined to influence movement.

Pulling further Bristol-based talent into the NHS gravitational pull we have Portway with his contribution ‘Conduit’; two original productions that cover disparate energies which coincide emotionally and sonically As playful, 3D-printed pieces designed to induce warmth and joy into an otherwise often dark, ominous space. Coupled with each original are stellar remix works from Tacit Gleam on an expedition into the system, along with Nostro mainstay Dayzero.

Portway’s offerings carry with them a more minimal sense of pace and design, moving perceptibly into an acutely functional style that match each other across opposite zones of the dancefloor. Lights flare past
your vision as your streamlined craft pushes its way through the wormhole. You’re smiling the whole time. Then all at once, warmth turns to cold – day turns to night. Concluding, we plummet to the rocky surface of the planet to explore the alien beneath the surface.

A new addition to the NHS roster, Steel Traxx joins at the 34 mark with three surging, buzzy club offerings applicable across a span of factors; energy, pace, duration of evening, yet Cohesive in their strident hypnotism. The Manchester-based producer carries a short, yet pronounced legacy of productions, having honed a definable approach to the brand of wonky, eclectic club music. Initial outings via a debut EP on London’s Erbium Records and single-track features on Manchester’s own Rubber Works demonstrate a clear vision and intention of sound, furthered only by the entrance into NHS territory.

A delicate balance of synthetics drenched in unnatural delays, crunchy, earthy percussion sampling and haunting melodies make for a package of intensely club-ready USB additions tailored effectively to a range of atmospheres. Holistic employment of rolling, building energy features across the selection; a masterful, refined second EP from one of the scene’s freshest newcomers.
