Stockholm born Lego has been a key figure in the electronic music scene in her hometown for over a decade. Since the first time she set her foot in the DJ booth back in 2012, her driving, trippy and hypnotic sets has then taken her to festivals like Exit in Serbia, Freedom Festival in Colombia and Eden Hill Festival in Taiwan, as well as clubs like Tresor in Berlin, Tango in Paraguay, Ved Siden Af in Copenhagen and Hall in Tallinn to name a few. In 2022 she had her first release on the Norwegian imprint Krill Music, where all profits from the sales are going to help the people in Ukraine during the war. Lego also made her first appearance on Lady Tazz imprint Mind Medizin in 2023 and in the beginning of 2025 her first solo EP was released on Cari Lekebusch label H-Productions. Now holding a residency at the newborn underground concept Spektrum in Stockholm, and with upcoming releases yet to be revealed, she for sure is one to keep an eye on.

In this podcast, host Dr Anna Volkmer explores the use of Lego Serious Play as a research tool / methodology in dementia and neurodegenerative disease studies. Traditionally used in therapy and organisational development, Lego Serious Play is now finding its way into the research world—helping researchers, participants, and stakeholders express complex ideas, foster collaboration, and build deeper insights (literally and metaphorically).

Anna is joined by a panel of expert guests:

Dr Warren Donnellan, University of Liverpool – a trained facilitator of Lego Serious Play who applies it to resilience and carer research.

Dr Alys Griffiths, University of Sheffield – who has integrated the method into dementia studies and her work in Motor Neuron Disease.

Dr Joe Langley, Sheffield Hallam University – known for combining design thinking and participatory research methods, including Lego Serious Play, in health and care settings.

Together, they explore the origins, applications, and benefits of this playful method, share case studies, and reflect on how building with Lego can break down communication barriers and empower participants—particularly those with dementia.

Lance is an enthusiastic musician, classically trained in composition and orchestration. During his college career he became the most sought after composer for student and faculty-produced films, and was the first student composer in the university's history to gain support of the premiere Philharmonic Orchestra to perform and record an original score for a student film. Lance was awarded the CTA EMMY Award for his score in that film, DreamGiver.

While classically trained, he thrives in any musical environment from sweeping orchestral suites to gritty electro-rock tirades, and a mixture of everything in between. Having been heavily involved in video game development, Lance is passionate for an area of the music industry he feels is constantly evolving and challenging itself.
