The worship for Sunday 9 March, the First Sunday of Lent, was prepared by the Revd Walt Johnson, a minister of Word and Sacraments in the Bolton and Salford Missional Partnership in the North-Western Synod of the URC.

"While the URC Daily Devotions team offered a service for Ash Wednesday, many of our churches will be marking the start of Lent today. We will be looking at the traditional Gospel reading, Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness, alongside what it means to keep a good Lent."
