L'album Next Level è per coloro che hanno avuto difficoltà relazionali con l'amico, l'amica o qualcuno di più speciale. A volte si litiga e i legami si spezzano, tradimento e delusioni fanno soffrire molto il cuore e destabilizzare la mente. Iniziando così a credere meno in sé stessi, o più generalmente, nella vita. Queste sono le tempeste che arrivano all'improvviso nella vita ma la resilienza è la parola chiave dietro tutte le canzoni. La resilienza è impersonata dalla fenice, uccello mitologico che rinasce dalle ceneri.
Le canzoni narrano di un'ascesa verso la libertà dopo un un momento difficile causato da qualcuno a cui si voleva bene ed in cui si credeva. Quindi ad ogni canzone, dal momento più difficile al momento della rinascita, c'è una piccola grande guerra da affrontare. Una guerra interna ed esterna per tornare ad essere felici nonostante qualcuno, su cui si basava parte della propria felicità, abbia "tradito" i propri sentimenti.
Inizia tutto con una tempesta. La voglia di vendetta è forte e si vuole essere invincibili contro le avversità della vita. Ma nessuno è invincibile. Quindi bisogna accettare di essere vincibili ed imparare che anche nei momenti più bui c'è una luce nascosta nell'oscurità. Una luce interiore, difficile da trovare, ma esiste in ciascuno di noi. Quindi bisogna trovare quella piccola luce, una scintilla, per vedere che c'è sempre qualcosa oltre all'oscurità.
È proprio grazie a quella scintilla che una fiamma può prendere vita, e tutti sanno che basta una fiamma per appiccare un grande incendio. Un incendio ricco di vita.
Ci sono sempre quelle persone di cui ci si fidava e che all'improvviso deludono le proprie aspettative. Migliori amici, migliori amiche che all'improvviso diventano falsi. Tradiscono la fiducia o se ne vanno. Ma la vita continua e anche quando tutto sembra finire, come una fenice si rinasce. Si lotta per la propria libertà, per dare un senso alla propria esistenza. Perché ci sarà sempre qualcuno che vuole approfittarne di te, dei momenti in cui ti mostri debole o disponibile. Ma oltre alle cattive persone ci saranno sempre molte altre a cui affidarsi e che nonostante tutto ti vorranno sempre bene, incondizionatamente.

Ryck started DJing in 1997 after being bitten by the Drum&Bass bug at the local United Tribes raves. He was struck by the futuristic production of Goldie’s „Timeless“ album, the athmospheric styles of the Good Looking and Reinforced labels as well as the slick bassline rollers of Bristol's Full Cycle crew. Looking up to his British DJ idols like Randall R.I.P., Micky Finn and LTJ Bukem, to name but a few, Ryck studied their mixtapes and selections, started practising for years on end and literally lived to get the next record. An avid Junglist and vinyl collector to this day, he had his first official gigs at Champion Sound at Gaskessel in Berne in 2000 and at Lighters at Club ISC later on. Known for his varied selection with a heavy nod to the oldschool, over the years he played at major Swiss D&B events such as Restless at Bierhübeli in Berne, Bassride at Rohstofflager or Mute at Hive in Zürich. A treasured memory of his is playing back to back with LTJ Bukem in Basel ten years ago, also signing a tune to Good Looking that in the end never got released... Today he is privileged to be a resident DJ at both Darkside at Dachstock in Berne and Hotbox in Zürich, both promotions dedicated to original Drum and Bass. As a producer, he released collaborative tracks with Konfront.Audio on https://soundcloud.com/soul-deep-recordings, https://soundcloud.com/informrecords and "Second Villain" with https://soundcloud.com/f-d on https://soundcloud.com/sunandbass. After being in involved in RaBass 95.6, a monthly Drum&Bass show by https://soundcloud.com/lockee on Berne alternative radio RaBe he was asked to co-promote and continue the Liquid Session series at Dachstock in 2015, hosting a broad variety of international D&B acts as well as showcasing young and older local talent up until the series demise in 2024. As a continuation of the idea of the Bern Bass Podcast, Ryck launched the now dormant Bandcamp-only Bern Bass Records label in 2020 to feature Swiss producers exclusively with a first trilogy of releases by Simstah, https://soundcloud.com/octastate and https://soundcloud.com/dayni - We hope there is more to come soon, stay tuned and check out the Bandcamp page:

This reputation earned him the opportunity to support some of Drum & Bass most influential names, including Calibre, Total Science, Bad Company, Marcus Intalex, Jubei, Commix, Aphrodite, Moving Fusion, Bailey, Ray Keith, J Majik, Friction, A Sides, Delicat, Ulterior Motive, and Patife.

For over three decades, LUCIAN has been promoting in Sydney, creating successful club nights like Sonic Fiction, United, Momentum, Joined at the Bass, and Airbourne. These nights helped solidify Sydney's Drum & Bass culture, ensuring the genre’s underground roots continued to thrive and evolve. This dedication led to successful tours across Australia’s East Coast, including Melbourne, Canberra, and Brisbane.

After stepping back to focus on family, LUCIAN is back in the trenches with renewed fire, driving Sonic Fiction Recordings alongside MiRaj (Vice Versa) and ED GEE. Who are on a mission to champion the next wave of Drum & Bass talent.
