This is so different to everything else I have ever written. Writing in the sand was originally the final track of the Cue Montage / Broken By design project, with the lyrics being completed around 2014. Broken By Design is a body of work written about extreme adversity, corruption from agencies we are taught to trust and finding strength within. Its a sort of collection of spiritual journeys and personal growth. I envisaged the original lyric being quite pop / ballad, however when I actually recorded the guide vocals on 22nd May 2019 I realised it was a great opportunity to be a little more theatrical. 

For me 2024 has been a horrible year and for some reason I keep listening to this early demo of the song. Personally right now it makes me feel equally as upset as hopeful, but there is so much realisation and hope in it. I also love that its very open to interpretation. It is an early demo so please be aware that its still relatively raw. 

You don't really know how strong you can be, until you are pushed to the limit. Plus forgiving yourself and those who persecute you is so important to an honest spiritual awakening.

Belgian DJ, producer, and label owner Michael Fall has been a steady force in the global dance music scene for over a decade. With a sound rooted in house, progressive, and melodic EDM, his music has charted internationally and featured in film, TV, and major club rotations. Known for his relentless energy and pure love for dance culture, Michael has released over 40 singles, three albums, and continues to evolve with each production.

Michael’s journey began at just fifteen, experimenting with vinyl, synths, and samplers in his parents’ musically rich home. Largely self-taught, he quickly made a name for himself in the Belgian club scene, spinning at venues like Riva, Kokorico, and Pravda Room, before moving onto international festivals from Barcelona to Egypt. Though he’s not yet played in Australia, his music is no stranger to its airwaves—his single "Body on Fire" (feat. Celeste) was recently featured in Season 2 of the hit TV series Colin from Accounts, bringing his sound to new audiences.

Over the years, Michael has collaborated with global names including Fatman Scoop, Lumidee, Celeste, Chappell, and Block & Crown, and continues to work with exciting talents. His 2025 vinyl EP “Like a Waterfall / Bubblegum”—featuring Maori, Pat Krimson, and DJ Wout—marks a return to analog roots with a deep, groovy twist.

His track record includes the hit “La Bonita” (11 weeks in the German DDJC), club staples like “Ring My Bell” (feat. Lumidee) and “Pleasure Seekers”, and streaming favorites like “Baltazar”, “Vixen”, and “She’s All I Need.” His debut album "Turn On Your Radio" earned a Gold Award, with its title track charting on the Belgian Ultratop Dance Chart. Follow-ups like "Ain’t Nothing but a Party" and “Million Years” (ZYX, 2021) kept momentum strong across Europe, with placements on over 200 international compilations.

As the founder of MFRecords Belgium, Michael also supports emerging talent and has built a respected hub for forward-thinking dance music. He’s remixed classics (including Maggie Reilly’s “Moonlight Shadow”) and earned licensing deals with Universal, Sony, ZYX, Kontor, Armada, and more, with distribution spanning Japan, USA, Germany, South Africa, and Australia.
