A Bridge Too Far

This is an experimentation with my Waldorf Iridium and Linnstrument with MPE in split mode. The first layer is using a single FM kernel oscillator while the second is using a granular oscillator and a wavetable oscillator that is slowly scrolling through the waveform. Been trying to playing with volume and expression mostly with MPE which has proven to be difficult to get used to.

The Expanding Man is the alias of CARLOS GUILLEN, guitarist, samplist, and sound designer working out of Baltimore, MD in the USA.

honer is an Edmonton born and Vancouver based electronic musician who has been composing minimal electronic music for more than 10 years.
	The inspiration for a majority of their composition comes from their natural surroundings especially nature and the sounds from it. honer's music is an amalgamation of found and sampled sounds that are later sonically altered to ones created on a variety of synthesizers. At times they can spend several months perfecting one sound in a particular arrangement. The purpose of spending so much time to create sounds in honer's words is to ".... exploit each part of a sound to draw on all of it's characteristics and emotion." 
	Venues have ranged from record stores (Listen records and Megatunes), cafe's (naked cyber), halls (children of Iraq relief fundraiser, Mead hall), art galleries, modern dance performances (citie ballet), and even The Alberta Legislature Grounds (w/ Clinker). honer also was apart of the development and promotion for “Warm Fuzzy” held in December of 2009 at The Azimuth Theatre in Edmonton. It was a multi-disciplinary evening including, music, visual projections and photography. They have also composed for convergence contemporary dance showcase.
     honer's first experience with electronic music came when they first purchased an album by Canadian industrial pioneers Skinny Puppy. Ever since that time honer has been drawn to the infinite sonic possibilities that electronic music has to offer. 
	As their experiments in electronic music has evolved his influences have as well.  They have recently started to rebuild their studio after years of inactivity and life interferences.
	Through electronic music honer hopes to reveal that there is complexity in minimalism and beauty in simplicity.

Jonathan Zorn works as a composer, performer, and curator of experimental, electronic, and improvised music. His electronic music pairs improvising musicians with interactive computer systems to create hybrid, human-machine ensembles. Zorn's interest in vocal utterance has resulted in a series of pieces in which spoken language is interrupted by electronic forces, drawing attention to the gap between speech and sound. Zorn has been active as an improvisor on bass and electronics for 15 years and has performed at Red Cat, the Walker Art Center, the Verona Jazz Festival, the Library of Congress, the Seattle Festival of Improvised Music, Line Space Line Festival, and the Chelsea Art Museum. His work has been published in Ord und Bild, the SEAMUS Journal, Notations 21, and UbuWeb.
