The voices continued, they rallied and roared on and on. They whispered and shouted, they teased and they taunted, they laughed and they mocked with a resilience like no other.

In the morning, in the evening they reverberated and rebounded with wild abandon.

"You will be mine" was what they whispered.

The sunlight beamed down from up above as the clouds parted and he began to ascend upwards into the sky. Perhaps they'd finally got him? Perhaps this was the time to rise above and beyond...

Jorkes is remixed by Hard Ton on Live At Robert Johnson. Several tracks have been reimagined from the original 'Sweet Dreams' EP from a number of talented artists but this was our out and out favourite from the lot as Hard Ton delivers a blistering cut of cosmic disco.

HSR #029 - Ronald Fabbro - Moody Friday

Smoke filled rooms with lights aglow, tension and excitement filling the air as the night ahead is looming with promises of incredible moments. These types of moments play out all over the world time and time again and each time, they’re exhilarating. No stranger to Delayed, as her expertise is wide ranging, from label founder, to DJ, to agency head and producer, it seems Laura BCR can and does everything incredibly well. Her production skills however are the ones that we’d like to highlight today as her newest release, ‘Human Behavior’ is forthcoming on storied, Live at Robert Johnson.

The four track EP is full to the brim with the aforementioned tension as Laura launches off strongly with a drum heavy A1, Farewell. The percussion twisting and curling around swelling pads like alarms in the distance. Continuing the theme of the release, Post Dynamic gives space as the growls and synths stretch mightily over the entirety of the track, propped up by the same steady percussion and bubbly accents. The title track Human Behavior, a collaboration with Columbian based Launaea, contains all of the delightful tribal accents and has an energy about it that is propelling you onwards, farther into the deep.

To round out the EP, we arrive at our premiere for today, ‘Long Wait’. Syncopated percussion and ear-worm like synths are surrounded in an embrace by soft pads for the duration. Like a nice come down from the highs of before.

Long Wait, and in turn Human Behavior will be out on Live at Robert Johnson, the 28th of April.

Phonobar is the room in San Francisco that celebrates vinyl above all else. A beautiful and thoughtfully put together booth, great monitoring, and a classic ARS mixer. I've gotten to know Chuck this year through Mark Slee and Gunita, and it's always been a dream of mine to have the opportunity to play there. This was a Thursday evening in April 2023, and I'm incredibly grateful to the crew that came out to dance and enjoy the experience together. Thanks to Phonobar crew for letting us run late and carry the energy through what ended up being 6 hours of vinyl.

This is a reflection of where I've been digging the past few months, and evolving sound. Also a reflection of lots of practice with vinyl, but not perfect! Listening back to it, I really enjoy the flow - hope you do too! Some new, some old, many dear friends musical efforts represented, and a broad spectrum of emotion.

A gorgeous night in Soho to celebrate Bradley. Bradley and Rachel have been such big supporters of my musical journey over the past year, and it was a pleasure to join them in New York to celebrate his birthday. Reflecting on it, this one just flowed really nicely. An exercise in energetic management, weaving in and out of some deeper dance floor moments and intertwining nostalgia and a darker evolution as the night progressed. I appreciated the feedback on this evolution as it was happening and thereafter. Worth noting, It was fascinating to prepare for as I wasn't sure where I'd be starting energetically after the previous artist, and ultimately I think this made the set more interesting. Chloe definitely influenced me in this regard. Also quite happy to play music from a few artists I've been enjoying that just haven't found the moment to come out yet, particularly Josh Caffe. This is hands down my favorite set all around thus far. Thanks for listening! 

I ended up playing from 12:45-4am. I've included 2 tracks b2b with Jason Douglas at the close as well. Thanks to you both for the opportunity to share music with so many people I love. Happy Birthday Bradley!

We have the honour of sharing with you our favourite track from the LP. 'Exploration' feels like the energetic culmination of the retro-futuristic journey this record takes the listener on. Sitting somewhere between techno, trance and IDM vibes, this tune is guaranteed to enhance any trip on the dance floor. 

We can only tease you with this track today but once the album is out we highly recommend to listen from start to finish and enjoy the complete adventure of beautiful compositions and pulsating rhythms which are weaved together.

It shines bright with light positive synth lines and a steady uplifting beat. It might even sound more like a visit to your local sauna when you're sitting in that bubbly whirlpool for relaxation purposes. Yet also: No prisoners taken here.
»All Over« starts with hard synth stabs, followed by a beautiful electro beat until the 4-to-the-floor bass drum hits hard - very hard. Here too we find these uplifting positive synthesizer melodies the boys so easily manage put in their productions. And isn't a huge portion of positivity not something we need these days? Come on! We need it ALL OVER!
Boys’ Shorts toured around Europe over the last years, playing in world renowned venues such as Berghain/Panorama bar and London’s E1, and opened for Hot Chip’s concert at the Knockdown Center in NY.

While lifelong musician, event producer, and discerning selector, Justin Shaffer was born and raised in New York City, he has spent the last decade gathering people and building community in San Francisco. In 2024, he now splits his time between SF and Berlin.

Justin’s musical journey started young, picking up the cello at age 6. After 12 years of classical training, he then pursued jazz via the tenor sax. Concurrently, he cut his teeth in the mid-late 90s NYC underground house music scene, a period from which he continues to draw inspiration.

Curious and focused, he shifted his energy from classical and jazz performance to studio work and audio engineering. This path eventually led him to a deep commitment to the audio experience, with the better part of the last decade spent focused on audio engineering, learning musical curation, and producing experiences, predominantly with the Robot Heart crew.

For the past few years, Justin has shifted his musical focus to DJing. An enthusiast and a passionate storyteller with a critical ear, he is becoming known for a deep musicality in his expression of the craft. Relentlessly crate digging through his frequent travels, he continues to expand his esoteric and avant-garde vinyl collection that he plays from.

This perspective has allowed Justin to build a deep sensitivity for what’s right in the moment, and he is comfortable playing in any context for an extended experience.

His sets have moved dance floors in SF, New York, Nevada, Mexico, Germany, France, UK, Italy, Australia, Costa Rica, and India - with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

After a half a decade of constant touring and producing, it's safe to say Kadosh's growth has been truly remarkable. Yet he remains deeply rooted in the underground values of the city of Tel Aviv, where for years he fine-tuned what he felt was the truest form of forward-thinking house & techno music.
 
These days he regularly crisscrosses the globe playing at some of the planet's leading spots. A typical weekend can be Blue Marlin in Ibiza, Nitsa in Barcelona, Fabric in London or Watergate in Berlin. The Americas have swiftly fallen under his spell as well, with LATAM playing host to his dancefloor wizardry on a regular basis. Having seen him play some major south American clubs and festivals like SXM in the Caribbean and Bar Americas in Mexico.
 
In between it's Frau Blau Music, his own imprint, which is constantly breaking new ground with a steady flow of releases while holding label nights at choice locations around the world. His "Kadosh Invites" events, meanwhile, continue to expand and create memorable nights with his favorite artists.
 
Kadosh’s studio output has been steady and top notch, with a string of EP's, remixes and collabs on a slew of acclaimed labels such as Innervisions, Disco Halal, Watergate and Live at Robert Jonhson, to name but a few. In 2023 he also released his debut album on Stil vor Talent, including collaborations with Rodriguez Jr. and soul legends Stereo Mc's, amongst others. It was a varied and eclectic affair, showcasing his consistently versatile approach.
