Jag hörde tomma ord som ekar, förstod hur landet låg
gick dit näsan pekar men missade mitt tåg
jag fick veta att jag lever men hängde aldrig läpp
fick en släng av sleven och föll på eget grepp
Jag gick med flickorna i hagen men högg alltid i sten
hade fjärilar i magen och gelé i mina ben
jag var en black om foten och kammade alltid noll
slog aldrig an den rätta noten, hade ingen riktig koll
Jag fick mina fiskar varma men inget vatten på min kvarn
ingen kunde sig förbarma över ett vilsegånget barn

Jag har tappat bort mig i tiden, jag vet inte var jag är
verkar ha förlorat den sista striden, och den värld jag hade kär
Jag gick vilse ibland orden, ingen fattar nu mitt språk
jag är inte utav denna jorden, jag kommer från en helt annan epok

Jag vet jag gick på pumpen, köpte grisen i en säck
var tvungen att göra lumpen fast du hade fått mig i däck
jag satt fast i ekorrhjulen, andra gick bakom min rygg
kärleken blev stulen av en som alltid silade mygg
jag blev tagen på sängen, var för het på min gröt
jag tappade bort poängen, la alltid näsan min i blöt
jag var flitig som biet, lyfte mig i mitt hår
men det var ett spel för galleriet och man skördar som man sår
jag var för fin i kanten,  jag tog aldrig eran sed
och vid grinden tappade jag slanten, på min väg som var så bred

Jag drog mitt strå till stacken, hade alltid nåt på lut
men fick bara bittra tacken, fast jag löpte linan ut
jag hade glimten i mitt öga men blev dragen vid min nos
satt på mina hästar höga men dansade aldrig på nån ros
jag gjorde slag i saken, ville ha allting nu
men livet är ju som baken, kluven mitt itu
jag tog mig i kragen, för kärleks skull
men du lusläste lagen för mig som hade häcken full
jag blev tagen på orden, jag anade argan list
så jag gick under jorden, skrattar bäst som skrattar sist

Jag balanserade på en lina, jag grävde på min grav
jag gick på en mina och min värld gick i kvav
jag var alltid ute och cyklade, halkade på nattgammal is
men jag har aldrig hycklat, inte sålt mig till något pris
jag fick ingen syl i vädret, var som ett oskrivet kort
så min hud blev som lädret, allting rann av mig så fort
jag bet huvudet av skammen, hade allting i min hand
på tuppen växte kammen, öga för öga tand för tand
jag tog mig en bläcka, bet mitt sura gräs
min törst gick ej att släcka, för jag skrev min egen pjäs

Jag hade alltid myror i byxan, alltid huvudet på skaft
men nu har jag grävt ner yxan, och spillt min mesta kraft
jag gick aldrig ner på knäna, visste var skåpet skulle stå
men hur en hacka gick att tjäna förstod jag mig aldrig riktigt på
nu är jag gammal som gatan, och håller tungan rätt i mun
jag är tjuvaktig som skatan men förvaltar blott mitt pund
jag vänder aldrig på min kappa, men vänder taggarna ut
och ner kan jag aldrig trappa förrän livet nått sitt slut
