Last Sunday, I experienced an unforgettable event in downtown Los Angeles: Louie Vega's renowned NYC party, Flashback. Hosted by Marques Wyatt and DEEP Los Angeles, this wasn’t your typical DJ lineup—it was an epic, eight-hour set by Louie himself. A legend in soulful house music, Louie seamlessly delivered an immersive journey through classic tracks, rare grooves, and his own iconic repertoire.

Flashback lives up to its name by featuring timeless tracks, some so rare they remain Louie’s personal gems. Hearing these classics reignited my passion for Soulful House, inspiring me to revisit forgotten favorites and incorporate them into the radio show. I even recorded snippets to remember key tracks for future sets.

This week’s episode of the show is a heartfelt tribute to Louie’s performance, filled with tracks from that night, especially in the final hour, which fully embodies the Soulful House vibe. It all begins with Barbara Tucker’s stunning classic soul cover of a track you will recognize, setting the tone for an uplifting, positive experience.

The night captured the essence of House Music: love, unity, and endless energy from dedicated dancers. A huge thanks to Louie, Marques, and DEEP LA for creating such a magical event. Soulful house truly inspires and uplifts!

The healing power of music has the ability to transmute and transform our energy on a cellular level, for better or for worse. This is why with InnerEarPower, I’ve come into the role of being a sound vibration curator, behind the scenes architect of the “vibe’ & essence of a moment a.k.a “DJ”. The term “DJ” holds much more weight and responsibility than people give it credit for nowadays. In our culture, people have gravitated towards DJs for therapy, healing, celebration, and escape from the troubles they experience in their reality. With that being said, I find it important to create high vibrational experiences through sound, that provides the space for people to become one with themselves via the universal heartbeat…….. rhythm. We all have an “InnerEar” (some more heightened than others) that allows us to hear the voice of divinity, the Universe, “God”, or whatever term you personally resonate with. The InnerEar is also sensitive to tones & vibrations, which control almost everything in this world. The goal/mission of InnerEarPower is to lead the collective back to a space where we cherished the sacredness of music, prior to the frequency (Hz) being lowered for control purposes. The problem AND the solution has always been reflected in the music culturally.

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Recently, Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.

DJ, radio show host, producer and in-demand resident DJ, CJ Cooper has been DJing across the UK and Ibiza for nearly 20 years. 

He’s best known for his long-standing nine-year residency at The Eagle in London, the legendary LGBT+ venue. And let’s face it, you know you’re doing something very very right when the other residents include Horse Meat Disco. 

Residencies have played a big part in CJ Cooper’s success to date. Alongside his regular slots at The Eagle, he’s also a resident DJ for the Brighter Days crew, playing at their sold-out parties for five years across Cambridge, Ibiza and London. 

Musically, CJ Cooper spans the best of disco, house and soulful house - from upfront edits and releases to crate-digging for long-lost classics. And they’re all present and correct on his weekly prime-time Wednesday night slot on D3EP Radio 

Away from his weekly and monthly gigs, CJ Cooper is increasingly in demand across the rest of the UK. 

He’s a firm favourite at the long-running Brixton Disco Festival having been booked for the last two years while he’s also recently played for We Out Here Festival and Cambridge Pride. 

Equally at home playing main-stage festival slots as well as intimate club gigs, other high-profile gigs including playing for Hed Kandi, the House and Classics Festival, plus several Ibiza gigs at Es Paradis, Ibiza Rocks Hotel and the Wiki Woo sunset bar. 

And memorably, it was while playing at Up on the Roof at the Prince of Wales in Brixton that The Shapeshifters called his warm-up ‘one of the best they’d ever heard.’ 

Not just a DJ and radio show host, CJ Cooper is a producer with a growing reputation having released four tracks on OPOM, Plastik People, Friday Fox Recordings and Electric Friends.

Dynamite Disco Club is a universe of Disco and House music that takes a closer look at the roots of soul, funk, disco and house and while also touching the basics of Chicago house, Detroit funk and Philly soul scene while keeping it fresh with best new ideas. Dynamite Disco Club aims to get into A to Z of Disco and House music culture. Dynamite Disco Club Records is an electronic record label based out of Bangalore, India, that aims to represent a genre of music heavily influenced by Disco, Jazz Funk, Soul, House, Afro, and World.
