You’re suddenly so tired, 
The light grows so dim
You want to give up ... can’t choose ... can’t win
You tried the best you could,

So grateful for the experience ... 
Why do I feel so sad

There are no guarantees, 
No promises to be kept
The illusion disappears so quickly
So many reasons to regret

You got the whole thing worked out in your head
You chose the rules you want to break
Just don’t get caught and everyone will accept
The deception you wish to make

And pray for one another
Main thing is you feel good about yourself
And the truth no one will discover

One life many journeys, 
So lucky if you get to choose
While so many others just circle in despair
Wait for it all to be through

So much to consider before the time runs out
And the time will run out ... 
Before you are ready to go
Did you have love, were you happy ... 
Are you happy now?
Did the role you play, convince them all, that you belong ... 
That you did what was expected of you to do?
To fill in all their empty spaces ... 

Why change if you made it this far?
No one will notice but you
Fitting in ensures there’s always someone
Expecting something of you

So that’ll keep you busy
Maybe some dreams won’t come true
So good at ignoring the empty spaces
Especially the ones in you
