NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Rider Angie Smith is recovering from a wicked accident at Worldwide Technology Raceway outside St. Louis four weekends ago.  Among other things the Lucas Oil sponsored racer broke eight of her toes and required skin grafts, all of which she's recovering from now.  The description of the accident is terrifying to hear.  And the recovery will take considerable effort on her part.  She said her road to recovery was helped along by Tony Stewart and his wife Leah.  This is the determination of a professional accident. Three-Time NHRA Top Fuel Champion Antron Brown won his titles in 2012, 2015 and 2016. He won the biggest weekend in NHRA drag racing, the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, for the second straight year in 2023.  As of the end of the season, Brown had 74 NHRA wins to go along with a second year of team ownership. His final round matchup with eight-time  NHRA Top Fuel Champion Tony Schumacher will have to wait two weeks until the series stops in Phoenix.  Rain and hale washed out the Final Round action at the Lucas Oil Winternationals in Pomona Sunday. Ashley sat in his car in the Pomona parking lot to talk with The Freaks. Shelby Ebert is the Fastest Woman on Water. But she flowed down a bit to talk with Kenny Sargent this weekend in the Kentucky Drag Boat Nationals. Speed boat racing is in the Ebert family. “My dad has been racing boats for more than 30 years,” Ebert said. “When I was a kid, I told my parents that I wanted to race, too. I started racing jet skis when I was 14 and then made my way through the classes, getting faster and faster as I’ve gotten older.” Now she's a six-time champion! NHRA Charlotte Top Fuel Winner Antron Brown followed up his win in Reading, Pennsylvania last weekend. The win gives him a 53-point advantage over Justin Ashley in second with four events remaining in the 2024 season. This is his first time in first place this late in the season since 2017. 2024 NHRA Top Fuel Champion Antron Brown won his fourth championship Sunday night. This title moves the Lucas Oil Racing driver ahead of legendary Top Fuel Champions Don Garlits and Shirley Muldowney who won three each. One of the key people who was there for each of Antron's titles in 2012, 2015, 2016 and, now, 2024 has been former driver and now Crew Chief Mark Oswald. But Oswald is retiring after this season. Antron Brown on His Fourth Title and a Crew Chief Leaving

2024 NHRA Top Fuel Champion Antron Brown won his fourth championship Sunday night. Then he talked with The Freak Nation a couple days later after he'd had time to think about the historic title. Brown is now ahead of NHRA legends Don Garlits, Shirley Muldowney, Larry Dixon, Gary Scelzi and, even, his teammate Angelle Sampey who won her titles in the Pro Stock Motorcycle class. In addition to his four titles Antron has 80 event wins, 851 round wins and last Sunday's Finals victory, settling his first championship as a team owner. Now, though, he must deal with the loss of former driver and last season's Crew Chief Mark Oswald who's leaving for retirement. Antron said Oswald is more than a crew chief to him and his team.
