You are about to enter another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind.  And maybe some heartburn.  Because “Twilight Zone: The Movie” has absolutely no reason to exist, yet here we are.  Back in the early 80s Hollywood thought it was a slam-dunk idea:  Take established hitmakers Steven Spielberg and John Landis, plus up-and-comers Joe Dante and George Miller, to make an anthology film based on Rod Serling’s classic, groundbreaking TV series. What could go wrong? Quite a lot, actually, mostly thanks to the tragic accidental death of veteran actor Vic Morrow and two young Vietnamese children while filming under Landis. From then on, the luster was gone and Spielberg mostly phoned it in.  But oh what joy to watch Dante and Miller crush it with their segments, remakes of fan favorite episodes that stood out in every good way possible. Still, one sees this movie now and has to wonder:  Why?

Ion Ludwig has spent nearly two decades refining a singular voice in stripped down house and techno. A producer since his teens, shaped as much by his musicianship and global travels as by formative years between Amsterdam and Berlin, where the likes of Club der Visionaere became key testing grounds, Ludwig has built a reputation for intricate, deeply textured productions released on revered underground imprints like Baby Ford’s Trelik, Meander and of course his own Quagmire LTD and Ugold Series. From the painstakingly crafted debut album ‘Free K Loudwiggle’ to his ever-evolving studio explorations, his work reflects an introverted, detail-obsessed artist committed to pushing house and techno beyond trend and into timeless expression, an ethos that continues on ‘Because We Ain’t Heard Nothing Yet And We Have Not Even Tried’. Ion Ludgwig : “Because we ain’t heard nothing yet and we haven’t even tried follows up Truth Only Exists in Paradise in an attempt to diversify the same approach. Radiating a spectrum of colours through various tools and pieces of music, all drawn from synchronization and synthesizing machines at Intuition Studios II.”

Across twelve original compositions, Ludwig traverses a broad sonic landscape, each track threaded together by a signature touch that feels unmistakably his. Opener ‘Three Cases Forty Years’, alongside ‘E-Trinity’ and ‘Dieper en Dieper Goes Portugal’, highlights his singular take on dub techno, while ‘This I Didn’t Know’, ‘Practice All Their Life’ and ‘Metropolixer’ drift into more textural, exploratory electronica.

Elsewhere, Ludwig leans into the raw, stripped-back aesthetic he’s long celebrated for on ‘Come to The End’, ‘Starlab Translate’, ‘Ill Progressions’, ‘Go Real Cloudy’ and ‘Things Are Moving’, before closing track ‘Galaxie C’est Boom’ surges forward with a percussive, driving house energy primed for the dance floor.

2002, the journey starts. A journey that led so far to collaborating with Tiësto, Gabry Ponte, NERVO, Tujamo, TNT, being supported by the likes of Martin Garrix, The Chainsmokers, Hardwell, Diplo, Alok (just to name a few), as well as remixing Bob Sinclar, Martin Solveig, Jonas Blue, Burak Yeter, VIZE (once again, to name a few). Add thousands of dancefloors rocked all over Europe, Asia, the States (…and sure, his very own Italy, as he’s one of the most in-demand DJs there).

This resume speaks volumes itself, but it’s not (only) about names, numbers, hits: even though there’s actually plenty of them, like for instance the blazing covers of “Children”, “Show Me Love” (Robin S graced this re-work with her voice), “Sandstorm”, “Get Get Down”, or the track “The Drop” alongside Tiësto, DJs from Mars and Da Brozz.

It’s not only about that, though. It’s mostly about being so enthusiastic and dedicated since day one. It’s mostly about seeing music and deejaying as a means for feeling good, for discovering things, surprises and emotions. It’s mostly about being so obsessive about details, and so focused on empathy with dancefloors and dancing minds at the same time. Rudeejay is a treasure himself: you’ll see that’s not just empty words, once you realize how hectic his schedule is and how truly loved and deeply appreciated he is by his fans.

Since 2002, yes. Facts speaking. But still feeling like he’s at the very beginning of an extraordinary and surprising journey. There lies the secret. There shines Rudeejay.
