We all experience moments of temptation.  Even Jesus was tempted, as he spent 40 days with no food in the desert.  There is a right way and a wrong way to handle tempting situations.  And the way Jesus handled it was perfect!

The Word Is Our Weapon

Let's be honest, we are all tempted sometimes. Some might say it's only human. Jesus was tempted in the desert, but unlike us He's both fully human and fully divine. Satan obviously knew this, so tried tempting Him from both angles. But Jesus did not give in. How did He do this? And how can this help us when we are tempted?

Jesus' Wilderness Experience

Ash Wednesdays offers each of us the blessing of God's loving forgiveness. Jesus in his time in the desert shows us that we can resist the temptations of the world. Holy Scripture leads us along the narrow path and offers a road back when we stray. What greater gift is there than Lent, a time to concentrate our minds, hearts, and strength on the love God has for His people.
