Il movimento consapevole è una pratica fondamentale all'interno dell'MBSR, in quanto rappresenta, per i suoi partecipanti, un'occasione ulteriore per esplorare i loro rapporti con il corpo e la mente. Lo stretching muscolare che si realizza durante l'attività ha a che vedere con l'investigare il limite dello strectching stesso, con il sentire fin dove possiamo arrivare. L'obiettivo è quello di trattare le posizioni stesse come dei veri e propri oggetti di esplorazione.
