Andy Summers is an English guitarist, songwriter, and composer best known as a member of the iconic rock band The Police. Born on December 31, 1942, in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, Summers began his musical career in the 1960s, playing with acts like Zoot Money’s Big Roll Band and the Soft Machine before joining The Police in 1977.

With his sophisticated use of guitar effects, including delay, chorus, and reverb, Summers created the atmospheric and distinctive sound that became a hallmark of The Police’s hits, such as “Message in a Bottle,” “Every Breath You Take,” and “Roxanne.” His fusion of jazz, rock, and reggae influences set him apart as a highly innovative guitarist.

Beyond The Police, Summers has had a successful solo career, releasing numerous albums that explore jazz, ambient, and world music. He’s also a noted photographer and author, with his autobiography, One Train Later, offering a candid look at his life and career. Summers’ unique style and contributions to guitar playing have solidified his legacy as one of rock music’s most influential guitarists.

A Sailor’s Song is a heartfelt song about distance, devotion, and the anchoring of love across miles of ocean. It’s both a love note and a survival song, a promise that love endures even when storms rise and miles divide. As a U.S. Navy Veteran and an Active Duty dependant I know what it is like on both sides of that torturous deployment op cycle. The daily challenges may differ but the struggle is very real on both sides. For all those military, and especially my Blue and Gold Navy folks, my heart goes out to you and I pray for a safe reunion. Fair winds and following seas.

Manda Aufochs Gillespie/Folk U - On this Folk U, the students of the Cortes Island Academy took over the radio waves to answer this question: If you were to send a message in a bottle that drifts through time and space to another “time being”: another person, species, or world, what would it sound like?  

These short 3 minute podcasts were the result of a week-long intensive with guest artist Ruby Singh and each captures reflections on time, place, and more-than-human life. Working with field recordings, biosonification tools, and their own creative voices, these short audio message that carries meaning beyond words.

Ilya Styles (born November 26, 1991), who performs under his stage name Sean "2fresh" Styles, is a solo rap and reggae recording artist, remixer, songwriter and producer.

Career:
In 2008, 2fresh released his first major work as a compilation entitled Da Best. The album included tracks like "B'star" and "Hard Times". The video clip for Hard Times was based on the British drama film Kidulthood.
In 2009, he started remixing other artists and dropped a mixtape called "Mix House". It features remixes of hit singles by artists such as 2Pac, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, Akon, Nas, Krs-One, Dmx, Xzibit, Snoop Dogg, The Game, and more. The remix of Mams Taylor’s song "Girlfriend" has been sent to Mams via facebook and was met with a positive response.
In 2012, after 3 year break, 2fresh returns with the second volume of his mixtape series Mix House. The idea was that 2fresh recorded his own rap verses and added himself onto tracks he originally didn't appear on. The music video "Mama’s Song" comprises photography montage of his favorite childhood moments from 20 years ago with modern-day photos.
In 2015, 2fresh put out his debut EP "Buffalo Souljahs" which contains socially conscious hip hop songs with influences of reggae and dancehall music. It features several guest contributions from hip hop and reggae musicians, and producers. Its single "Message For Tomorrow" got a lot of attention and was praised for the strong and powerful lyrical content.
2fresh also has experience as a DJ and specialized in Trance and Euro Dance music. "At The Velocity Of Sound 2010" is a two-disc concept project based upon various types of electronic music. The first CD provided contemporary sounds of genres such as Drum'n'Bass and modern Trance, while the second CD provided classical and old school techno, euro dance and ambient songs.

Influences:
2fresh grew up listening to artists such as: Tupac Shakur, Will Smith, Coolio, Bomfunk MC's, Dj Aligator, Sean Paul, who all influenced him. In addition to expressing his admiration for Bob Marley, The Temptations, Eddy Grant and Ray Charles.

Musical style:
2fresh incorporates hip hop, R&B, Reggae, and electronic styles into his music. 2fresh described his sound as "experimental music". 2fresh is often compared to Kanye West, Sean Paul, Dmx and Timati.
