A punchy number that's a lil precious to me. 'Coma Toes' brings together a few features of my production style and learned techniques with a smattering of personal touches. Encouraging depth, through texture layering, some ghostly harmonies and a flotilla of jostling sounds.
'Coma Toes' is about that 'tail end of summer' joy (and vibe), and taking some of that with us, as we cross over into the orange leaves.
This one felt nostalgic from the outset, after sitting at my Roland FP-90 and writing some of the arising melodies. But it's the live piano and synth parts later recorded that give this track its feel, floating alongside the swing-heavy percussion. Here's hoping one day I'll get to spin it at a New York block party in the autumn, with the sun hanging low in the sky. Likewise, there are more than a few nighttime scenarios where the meaty drop that smacks in the second minute, wouldn't go a miss.

Prolific UK-based producer, Frankie Alpha segues elements of house, techno and club sounds into crafted, technical productions which are equally at home on the dancefloor as the car stereo. With a sound that refuses to be confined to one genre, incorporating ambient, IDM and downtempo, Alpha weaves together sonic and visual storytelling, with artwork mirroring his approach to production: minimal yet expansive, structured yet open-ended.
Over the last year and a bit, Alpha has dropped a series of self-released colour coded singles ranging from the rolling house grooves on ‘My Energy My Salted Butter’ to the sonic gradient in 'The End Never Ends' - a horizon that never quite settles.
One part of alternative/indie duo, 'Dope Rooms', this multi-instrumentalist is a curious producer with a strong love for percussive, melodic grooves. With shimmering synths, quirky vocals, and rhythms that make you wanna move, it’s music that feels like golden hour on repeat, reminiscent of good times with friends.
