'’22 - 22 EP’ witnesses the return of blaktone! Like Renaissance’ recent Come Closer release, it’s another elevation that sees a duo make the leap from the Merin VA series to a full, extended player.

As ever with blaktone, the whole package is a genre-defying ride that flirts between indie and MH&T with cohesive ease, though Roman and Igor’s main concern is the dancefloor. “Our inspiration comes spontaneously,” they explain, “so there isn’t really an underlying meaning or personal story behind the tracks. We just set out to make club-killers with a clear rhythm and groove.”

Lead track, ’22 - 22’ is a case in point with its memorable bassline, pinpoint percussion and answerphone sample, which cleverly intertwines with the instrumentation as the track progresses. Asked where the title came from, the guys laughingly reply, “Well, you may think it’s some sort of telephonic reference, but it’s actually because we believe in the magic of numbers and finished it at 22:22. It was simple!” Which only goes to confirm that sometimes the answer really is on the tin!

‘Tube Romantic’ and ‘Jungle City’ complete the trilogy of original tracks. The former evokes memories of 80’s arcade games, albeit in a very contemporary, beautiful way; whilst the latter is further proof that piano and house music will always share a mutual love. Job done in terms of their self-set goal of dancefloor devastation!

But the guys didn’t want to stop there, they were keen to work with Renaissance to bring wider appeal to the package by inviting two of the coolest producers at work today. Hailing from opposite sides of the world, Copenhagen’s Radeckt infuses ’22 - 22’ with a melodic, cutting-edge before things hop across the Atlantic to the electronic hotbed that is Brazil and Mila Journée’s powerful rework of ‘Tube Romantic’.'

It’s no news that Victor Ruiz have been producing authentic music from day one. With a need to incorporate that sound more and more, VOLTA was created.

“I’ve always felt that my music was somewhat different and most times hard to place on a certain label. I saw many other artists feeling the same. There was a gap. That’s when I knew it was time for me to create VOLTA.”
Victor wants to create a new platform that not just releases music but also connects artists and human beings.

A percentage of the profits of the label goes to charities and causes chosen by all the artists that are involved.

“I want to bring consciousness to our scene that we should not just make and play music. There’s so much more beyond that. Helping people should be one of the main focuses in our lives. That’s why we are artists, to connect and to help.”

Een Belgische upcoming DJ met passie voor diverse subgenres van techno. Haar talent is merkbaar in het vermogen om verschillende stijlen naadloos te mixen en de snelheid waarmee ze nieuwe DJ-technieken leert en beheerst. Wanneer ze achter de draaitafels staat, weet ze haar publiek te betoveren met energie en vaardigheid, waardoor ze telkens weer een onvergetelijke ervaring creëert voor haar toegewijde fans. Deze rising star aan de DJ-horizon is niet alleen een bewijs van talent, maar ook  onvermoeibare toewijding aan haar leerproces... hierna stelt ze zichzelf even voor:

Leentje Zaman, Zaza voor mijn vrienden (lacht). Geboren en wonende te Sint-Niklaas. Als een enthousiast persoon barst ik altijd van positieve vibes en ben ik constant op zoek naar nieuwe manieren om creatief te zijn. Uitdagingen zijn mijn brandstof en ben ik energiek en doelgericht in alles wat ik doe. Ik geloof sterk in het verkennen van het onbekende en het vinden van oplossingen door mijn passie en vastberadenheid. Ik stort mij steeds volledig in elk nieuw project en ervaar uitdagingen als kansen om te groeien.

Al van kinds af speelt muziek een grote rol in mijn leven. Geworteld in een familie van muzikale talenten heb ik eerst het hele traject van de klassieke muziekschool afgewerkt, inclusief instrumenten, samenspel en stemvorming. In mijn zoektocht naar mezelf ontdekte ik vele interessante en uiteenlopende genres van muziek. Anderzijds heb ik mijn liefde voor techno sinds de late jaren '90 omarmd en ben ik er altijd door geïnspireerd gebleven. Voor mij is techno niet alleen een genre, het is een manier van leven, een drang naar eindeloos dansen, feesten, raven... in the club for days, totally addicted to bass;))

Tot voor kort zag ik hierin plots weer een nieuwe uitdaging: (dj)ELZAZOU. Zorgvuldig zocht ik nieuwe tracks en vulde ik geleidelijk aan een muziekbibliotheek waarmee ik aan de slag kon gaan. In no time was DJ'en voor mij een constante bron van passie, creativiteit en energie. Het ultieme geluksgevoel dat ik ervaar achter de decks en de interactie met het publiek zorgen samen met het mixen van oude en nieuwe tracks voor mijn drive om mijn liefde voor techno te delen, terwijl ik ervan droom elke dansvloer te vullen met onweerstaanbare ritmes en knallende beats... En zo bereid ik me voor op onvergetelijke ervaringen, want dit is slechts het prille begin van een mooi DJ-verhaal! 

Ik ben pas in de zomer (eind augustus 2023) begonnen met draaien, al snel kreeg ik genoeg platen bij elkaar om mijn allereerste sets te maken die meteen ook zeer goed werden beoordeeld.  In oktober'24, slechts 2 maanden nadat ik begon, had ik mijn eerste optreden... 2 GIGS en 4 maanden later mocht ik openen bij CHAKRA PARTY... DJ'en geeft mij een buitengewoon geluksgevoel wat dan weer dé drive geeft om hier verder in te geraken❤️
