KALIMBAWA is a darkpsy experimental trance project to explore consciousness which is all that exist in the universe and it appears that consciousness is recreating itself to experience itself subjectively so it has created galaxies, planets, humans..... In order to experience itself from another perspective.
So it appears that consciousness is the only thing that really exist and everything else seems to be an illusion.

Death is life and life is death the end is the beginning and the beginning is the end, the future the past the present everything is interconnected !!

ABUJAMILA is the namesake of Torben Holleufer of Sufi Caravan and the name simply means Jamila's Dad in Arabic. Jamila simply means beautiful and was my beloved daughter, who left us recently and will forever be in our hearts. 
The music is mostly a cross between inspirations from the Sufi Brotherhoods of Morocco, especially from Gnawa (Gnaoua), Hamadcha, Aissaoua and Jilali as well as western psychedelic and straight singer/somgwriting. 
There are no limits and the music is an invitation to enter the trance and meditation and dance with the spirits. 
The main composer and performer is Torben Holleufer and Jamila was my daughter, Jamila Toni Holleufer (1989-2024), who shot the cover photo in Essaouira in April 2024 on our last trip to Morocco.
