In the 70s and 80s Ivory Coast’s capital Abidjan was a major musical hub in West Africa. After a series of political crises, Abidjan is back. The Zouglou sound of the 1990s and the coupé decalé rage that followed are being reinvented in the era of Afrobeats and African hip-hop. The group Magic System is now invited to play major events in France—including President Macron’s election victory party! The group’s front man Asalfo has launched an annual music festival in Abidjan, FEMUA. On this program, we attend the festival and hear the sounds and stories of Abidjan’s cultural and commercial renaissance.Produced by Elodie Maillot and Alejandro Van Zandt-Escobar.

Sashy has been immersed in electronic music since childhood but fully embraced DJing and music production later in life. Originally from Kyiv, she moved to Toronto in her early twenties, where her journey flourished, enriched by her background in piano, dance, and songwriting.

During the pandemic, she pursued her DJing passion and quickly gained recognition on global radio stations like Ibiza Stardust, Mix365, and Remix Radiofy. Her SoundCloud mixes highlight her favorite genres—Afro House, Progressive House, Melodic House/Techno, and Organic House—featuring the latest tracks in electronic music. Beyond the decks, Sashy is a full-time corporate event planner dedicated to empowering women in the industry and inspiring others to follow their passions.

DJ Plink embarked on his career at a young age as a singer, beatboxer, and drummer, participating in musicals and talent shows throughout high school. During the first five years of his DJ career, he lacked musical equipment, yet that didn't deter him from rigorous training, consistently arriving an hour early for his gigs to practice. As a self-taught artist, he quickly became proficient in DJing & music production. After 10 years of DJ experience entertaining in hundreds of venues, DJ Plink decides to start producing music.

As a DJ who played at so many venues for tons of different crowds, versatility became his forte. He introduces this versatility in his music production by producing genres from all over the world and in various languages. He also loves to blend different genres together to make something unique and creative.

As a frequent traveler, he performs in various cities, sharing his passion for music. To this day, his performances continue to captivate audiences. With over 20 years of experience today, DJ Plink remains as passionate and dedicated as ever, undeniably ranking among the top DJs, artists, and producers in the world.
