After I made my selection, I discovered that six of the tracks - coincidentally all featuring in the first seven I play here - feature in the 200 Greatest Dance Songs of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine in 2022 (which includes songs that came along after the 1970s ended). Candi Staton's number 2 UK hit Young Hearts Run Free was only pipped to the top of the chart in 1976 by another song featured here, You To Me Are Everything by The Real Thing. And the Top 200 also incudes a track by KC and The Sunshine Band, though not the one I chose for this show. KC also covered Boogie Nights by Heatwave, the original version featuring in this show.

Magic Fly - (Remix)

There are many Italo-Disco hits that have sci-fi themes and sound effects that were previously used in Space Disco. Many instrumental Italo-Disco remixes sounded very "space disco" like and some Italo-Disco artists and groups (most notable Koto and Laserdance) had space disco elements in their music until the late 1980s.
I make mixes of all kind.

Lifelong Kate Bush fan, some time songwriter and recording artist with Rare Flowers, and occasionally performing Kate Bush's songs as The Magic of Kate Bush. I now enjoy creating radio shows about Kate (and other artists) and run a Facebook page 'The Magic of Kate Bush' to promote Kate's work.
