Epicure Records is psyched to deliver the fresh new release of Mexicans producers, Tapia & Mahkina (Alter Ego of Alex Aguayo)

In this project the two guys have joined forces to produce « Stereo Dust », which will be out on the 26 of July.

This EP is pure sparkling club music blending subtly, proper industrial sounds, classic rave drum sequences, and atmospheric trance grooves.

Together, they have developed an old rave party sound and bring new influences from the explosive Mexican scene. The result is pure bliss.

It's composed of three original songs :

Title track, Stereo Dust is a big piano-house summer anthem full of trancey energy that will have you going even happier than before. You will dance for sure !

Second track, "Black Leather" is a psychedelic powerful machine with a heavy bassline tailored for the club. Play it loud.

Last track, "You Left Your Underwear" grabs its position with a straight beat being accompanied by space echoes, sharp and various 90’s synth sounds.

Active for more than 7 years on the indie and electronic scene as Alex Aguayo, the Mexican DJ and producer is now introducing his new house / progressive project. “Sale Por El Corazon” stands as a clear definition of Mahkina : a tribute to the digital retro sounds and a hot touch of tropical/salsa style rhythms.

 “Good Old Moments” acts as a bridge between the change in Alex Aguayo style that could be seen in his latest release on Fauve Records and the actual Mahkina project. The balearic nostalgia is inherent to the sounds which remains a very sweet tool for dancefloors thanks to its fast rhythm and the warmth of the dub techno influenced stabs.

The four track EP opens with “Attraction Gravitionelle”, a clear dancefloor oriented track, evolving around a mesmerizing acid bass line and french vocals. The emotional breaks and drops add a layer of tension to the hottest tune of the EP.
“Good Old Moments” acts as a bridge between the change in Alex Aguayo style that could be seen in his latest release on Fauve Records and the actual Mahkina project. The balearic nostalgia is inherent to the sounds which remains a very sweet tool for dancefloors thanks to its fast rhythm and the warmth of the dub techno influenced stabs.
“Sale Por El Corazon” was produced a bit later after the other tunes by Mahkina yet it’s really what is giving the relevancy of the whole EP and then its name. Alex managed to capture the brute energy of the inspiration flow, waking up one day at 6am hearing the bass line in his mind and rushed to his PC to record the whole tune. On this track, Alex touched the raw essence of the first Detroit productions with the same influences coming from latin pianos and percussions.
“No Politics” concludes the EP with a beautiful and vibrant balearic house ballad giving space to aerial piano lines.
