I've been loving Mario Kart World for the past few months and the music for the Desert Hills track really stuck out as one of my favourites. I wanted to transform it into a much higher energy EDM track while keeping the mysterious vibe it's known for. I imagine this is what a Toko Toko DJ would produce 😂

While I was making my last arrangement, I also ended up making this latin-inspired version. I felt this captured a totally different vibe to the original so I wanted to put it out there as well!

The first song I started of the three, and I think it definitely set the tone for what I wanted my next project to be. I don't think I even fully envisioned this song being motorsport-themed at first (despite the fact I settled upon the name TIME TRIALS pretty early on) until my friend suggested I sample some car sounds. I envision this song as encompassing a high-stakes race of some sort, with Group B style crowds taking over the sidelines, obstacles and jumps that would probably be illegal in any modern-day regulated motorsport, and (of course) unlimited access to nitrous oxide. Let's see how fast these cars can go.
