Yedi maddeden oluşan bu talimatlar, sıradan birine ait değil. Protestanlığın kurucusu ve sonuç itibariyle sekülerliğin ve
dolayısıyla modern dünyanın ve tasavvurunun icadında en kilit rollerden birini oynayan Martin Luther’e ait.
Büyük çalkalanmaların ve transformasyonların kasıp kavurduğu 16. yüzyıl ‘’Avrupa’’sında yaşayan Luther’in, “Yahudilere ve
Yalanlarına Karşı” (Against the Jews and their Lies) başlıklı bir kitabı olduğunu biliyor muydunuz?
Luther, 7 maddeden oluşan Yahudileri imha planını bu kitabında açıklıyor ve Avrupa’da Yahudilerin nasıl bir hayat
sürdüklerine dair ilginç bilgiler veriyor. Avrupa’da Yahudilere karşı ne denli büyük bir kin, nefret ve öfkenin kolgezdiği ve
Yahudilerin nasıl bir hayat sürdükleri bu kitaptan ve Luther’in Yahudileri imha planından çok net bir şekilde anlaşılabiliyor.
Luther’in Yahudileri imha planı, piyanist, psikanalist, uygarlıklar ve düşünce tarihi araştırmacısı Georg Frankl’ın
“Civilisation: Utopia and Tragedy” (Uygarlık: Ütopya ve Trajedi) başlıklı kitabında ayrıntılı olarak yer alıyor. (Burada, Zihnin
Arkeolojisi üst başlığı ile iki cilt olarak yayımlanan Frankl’ın bu nefis kitabını Pınar Yayınları bünyesinde kurduğumuz Açılım
Kitap’ın “uygarlıklar ve düşünce tarihi” dizisinin ilk kitabı olarak yayımladığımızı haber vermiş olayım).
George Frankl, iki ciltlik kitabında şimdiye kadar yapılmamış bir şeyi yapıyor: İlk ciltte, insanlık tarihinin başlangıcından
Antik Yunan uygarlığına kadar gelmiş geçmiş kültürlerin ve uygarlıkların bilinçaltlarının tarihini yazıyor. Bu metni keşfedince,
Frankl’ın izini sürdüm ve hatta Londra’dayken bu ilginç adamın Elizabeth Hall’de verdiği bir piyano konserini izledim.
Luther’in Yahudileri imha planını Frankl’ın kitabının ikinci cildinin 97. ve 98. sayfalarından aynen aktarıyorum. Bu metnin
Ermeni sorunu ile nasıl başa çıkacağını bilemeyen zavallı devlet ricalimizin işine de fazlasıyla yarayacağını şimdiden
söylemiş olayım. İşte size Luther’in 7 maddeden oluşan Yahudileri imha talimatnamesi:
“1-Yahudiler’in sinagoglarını yakın. Sinagoglardaki Yahudilerin üzerine de sülfür ve katran dökün. Ve yakılan Yahudilerin
cesetlerinin üzerini, hiçbir iz kalmayacak şekilde toprakla örtün.
2-Yahudiler’in evlerini yıkın. Tüm Yahudileri sürüler hâlinde ahırlara doldurun. Böylelikle Yahudiler, bu dünyanın
efendileri olmadıklarını, sadece sürgüne mahkûm edilen mahpuslar olduklarını öğrenmiş olsunlar.
3-Kutsal kitaplarını ve metinlerini ellerinden alın. Böylelikle Yahudiler, Tanrı’ya ve İsa’ya lanet okumaktan alıkonulmuş
olsunlar.
4-Yahudiler’in hahamlarının çocuklarını eğitmelerini, kamusal mekânlarda Tanrı’ya ibadet etmelerini yasaklayın. Yasağa
uymayanları ölüm cezasıyla cezalandırın.
5-Alman İmparatorluğu’nun sınırları içinde seyahat etmelerini yasaklayın.
6-Yahudiler’in faiz peşinde koşuşturmalarını yasaklayın. Ellerinden paralarını, altınlarını, gümüşlerini ve tüm mallarını,
mülklerini alın. Çünkü Yahudilerin, elde ettikleri her şey hırsızlık ve faiz yoluyla elde edilmiştir.
7-Yahudiler’in çocuklarını ve gençlerini en zor işlerde çalıştırın. Böylelikle, alınteriyle ekmek kazanmanın nasıl bir şey
olduğunu öğrenmiş olsunlar. Ama en iyi yöntem, bunların hepsini Almanya’dan, İspanya’dan, Fransa’dan, Bohemya’dan ve
diğer Avrupa ülkelerinden sürmektir.”

If, as Jesus promises, the truth will set us free, what is the lie that has us enslaved? The witness of the Reformation's initiator, Martin Luther, suggests it might be the lie that the eradication of evil from our own hearts is under our control. There is an instinctive human longing to see evil as something outside of ourselves, something that we can segregate and eradicate. But we all have both good and evil inside of us, and the longing to pretend otherwise drives much of the evil action in our world. The truth of God's grace, however, can free us from that lie and thus empower us to live more fully into the love the Jesus commands.

This podcast is recorded in my car as I drive to work. I do it this way so that I can work through ideas organically without the luxury of a Bible or any other books to fall back on. This way I know how I sound when I talk on these subjects and I can listen back to what I said and see the path and progression of my own theology and understanding of Jesus. I do not edit so as to keep discussions as raw and real as possible, although I do pause from time to time, like when I recently spilled my coffee or when I get a call.
