GPS's second full-length album, and the first with this iteration of the band, "Galactic Prism Sounds" introduces new tunes not only from saxophonist/flutist Gabe Preston, but keyboardist Tony PC as well. As this acronym would imply, GPS has had recent obsessions with trying different rhythmic and melodic shapes in an attempt to explore uncharted territories beyond the fusion jazz realm. In addition, this lineup of musicians aims to bring very certain soundscapes that highlight the eclectic personalities of each instrument, including the introduction of guitar in some tracks. With Gabe and Tony being the only recurring members from the first phase of GPS ([to the stratosphere]), "Galactic Prism Sounds" builds upon the initial spirit of the project with an open mind and a determination to pick up where the journeys and adventures left off.
