2nd «jam» I recorded with the Twisted Electrons MEGAfm synthesizer. Used same melody as in 1st version:)

Quick mix that I may come back to but that I feel is ok for now:) Title is a tribute to the Oberheim Matrix 1000 module where i used preset 844 (Horrors) as inspiration for a track:) The patch drifts in and out of the music (i.e. @ 5.55/6.16). Headphone listening recommended.

OB-844 (mix#2)

There’s a secret ingredient here:) 3rd mix of this track. Distorts slightly (pads) but nice on headphones. No samples! Only midi/live sequence. May do more versions later…

Mysterious III

Fresh version of «Mysterious» recorded/mixed/mastered today:) Haven’t been in the studio for weeks. Winter has finally arrived in Southern Norway and Xmas is over. Happy New Year to all my listeners & followers!!

Mysterious IV

Probably my last version of «Mysterious» for now. This one’s short and simple. As I said previously there are always mistakes so in this track there’s no bass line, plenty of bass though;) For some unknown reason the “Boog” bass wouldn’t trigger (midi) while I was recording so that’s the reason the track became so short:) After listening a couple of times I liked the sonic space with no bass that left more room for the Moog Labyrinth:) Headphones recommended!

Mysterious XI

This is definitely the last “Mysterious mix:) Added a new element so a bit different from the previous versions. Btw I recorded a 20 minute version (XII) that I won’t be uploading;) It’s too weird. The echoed hi pitched sinus waves @ 0.13 and throughout is a patch (Mysterious) from the tiny red Clavia Micro modular:) Headphones recommended!

I got synths they're multiplying and I'm losing control

Made this track way back in 1991-92 (possibly new year’s eve) so this is pre-brillman. Recorded the track from a cassette and into my current mixer/studio setup. Only added slight eq (mids) on the way out. Then some Ozone 10 treatment (stabilizer/imager). No added compression:) Reverb added via Traktor.

Childhood (91-92)

I’ve been experimenting further with re-tuning everything I own into Carnatic scales and using chance operations in my sequencing to control slides, accents and reverb and delay sends.

I used to use maxmsp to retune synths using midi guitar mode and pitch bend on each channel with a snazzy custom patch I built but now oddsound just does it all for me. I think they built weird scales into live itself now but oddsound MTS does it better. I've become slightly obsessed with the bhairavi raga scales, they're dreamy. 

Is anyone else really suffering with live 12? It crashes all the time for me when any project reaches over a few tracks in size...

Pang Remold

Brillman has been an electronic online musician during the last 20 years using many different names: Brillman, Controlfreak, freakcontrol, Red Karma, Atmosphere, Zero Loop, Pan64, Randomcontrol, geometric delay and Superfreak! Brillman mainly creates original sounds from hardware synths but also uses guitar, samplers, vocals or even poetry. He primarily utilizes a 4 to the floor approach. The aesthetics behind the music is about finding a balance between minimalism vs. depth & improvisation vs. programmed.
