GTG Premiere | Alexander Johansson & Mattias Fridell - I Sista Minuten [HPX135]

Smygtittaren EP, the 10th release on Lømsk Records consists of 4 tracks based on the idea of opposing attributes: Energy vs. drowsiness.

"Batteritorsk" is opens the EP with its intense synth sequence, and basic rhythm while "Bedragren" functions with a sleepy melody, pads and vocals, and stompy beats. "Obehaget" takes things in a new direction with strongly compressed drums and a repetitive synth work-out. Rounding off with "Dykaren", which dives down in the swamp of classic drum machines and deep stab chords.

"Mums fillibabba" is a playful Swedish expression used to describe something that is delicious or tasty. So what else to expect than four different but tasty tracks on the 13th release on Lømsk? For breakfast, you get the funky riffs and groovy rhythm from Snoken. When it's lunchtime, Spanaren got you covered with its hypnotic sequences and drum workouts. Segelflyg takes you for a gentle, yet distorted gliding just before it's fika-break. Finally, to accommodate the supper, Dubbelknut is there preparing you for a wild night out in club-land with its melodic uplifting vibes. Alexander Johansson & Mattias Fridell return for their third outing on James Ruskin's Blueprint Records to follow their "Geometriska Strukturer EP" in 2023 and "Marvatten EP" last year.

This Swedish duo have built an impressive reputation since their production debut in 2000 and have gone on to release music on labels including Audio Assault, Symbolism, Blueprint, H. Productions, ARMS, XXX Records, and their own Lømsk label which they launched in 2022.

Their new "Bentik Zone EP" features three peak-time assaults alongside a more experimental closing track, set for release on vinyl and digitally on 2nd May.

It's a hilarious expression so we decided to make an EP based on the concept! With our usual cheeky, machine funk approach, we created four completely different tracks on the theme. All in accordance with our vision of playful & mischievous but always genuine techno.

Rajtan tajtan is a playful, reduplicative phrase used to describe a lively, rowdy party or commotion, a fitting theme for the tracks on this EP.

Rävspel has become a staple in our live set: a dry, dense, and cheeky workout that just refuses to let up. Raljera shifts the focus to clicky, smattering percussion riding over a steady low-end groove, topped with a mischievous synth line. Pyspunka builds its energy around a panicked sequence and a raw, distorted foundation, while Krokben keeps that distortion, while opening up more space and depth in its twisting, dimensional synth work. All in accordance with our vision of playful & mischievous but always genuine techno.
