Final Stretch is a track where nature and electronics come together to illustrate a “final stretch.” I recorded sounds from the forest—birdsong, cracking branches, rustling grass—to create textures and percussive elements.

Inspired by the electronic sounds of Kiasmos, Rival Consoles, and Max Cooper, this track is both atmospheric and powerful, featuring numerous natural rhythmic elements. It blends evolving melodies, deep bass, and organic percussion, inviting the listener to both escape and reflect.

i often think about dance music in horizontals and verticals. the verticals are the stabs and drums and attack of a tune, the horizontals the melody, the washes and the long phrases.

this mix for me is all about the horizontals - lots of lush and lazy tunes, gently making their way downstream. i've made  real effort to include the whole tune in sequence, but also to run the mixes together to give a sense of mellifluous flow. i really enjoyed making this mix, even though i had to do it on one player (my other has a broken motor).

This September marks 6 years of Sundays. The musical journey continues, and evolves, so too does the visual. Simple, and abstract. Born and raised in Wilmington, DE, I first began moving my fingers across fretboards and piano keys in my early teens, followed soon by digital camera buttons and field recording equipment.  I wrote songs and played with other musicians, though was inclined to dive deeper on my own with a very DIY home studio comprised of an over-worked PC, a cheap interface, and a couple cables to start recording.

Through practice, learning, and intense technical and creative acquisition, I’ve been able to not only construct my ideas audibly and visually, but alongside fellow film artists and musicians as well.  The creative process is constantly growing and changing, and I’m always happily surprised with what comes out of the passion put into the beautiful art of music and film.  Connecting with people through this fuels me with creative endeavor and simply pushes me to keep doing the best part of my life.

On the sleeve notes to BT's 1995 album Ima was an ee cummings quote. between the beauty of those words, the amazing images on the sleeve, and the astonishing music contained on the record itself, i fell in love with electronic music. I guess since then i've been trying to manifest that wonder every time i play. i rarely manage it. but i see no reason to stop trying.

As a kid from the UK growing up in 1980s Manchester, I was privileged to live through the Factory records era and enjoy the booming music scene as It reshaped the city's image from 'dirty old town' to the global mecca of nightlife and creativity it is today.
While the warehouse and club scene was beginning to bubble away, I spent my early teens listening to mixtapes from the likes of Sasha (who began his career down the road and has curated the soundtrack of my life ever since), the DJs of the Thunderdome and Hippos (Jay and Moggy) and the legendary 808 State Show - at the age of 16 I was invited down to the Sunset studios to play a live  guest mix on the show and was booked to play my first club gig in the city, warming up at Parliament Nightclub.
I spent many years clubbing and DJing around Manchester and the City Centre, developing my DJ style taking influence from the DJs of the Hacienda, Bugged Out and Tangled and became hooked on the Progressive House scene led by Sasha, Digweed, Renaissance, Cream and the Global Underground mix series.
After a summer DJing in Cyprus in 1999, I returned to Manchester and held several residencies in bars and clubs around the City; Dry Bar, Joshua Brooks, South, the wonderful sweatbox where I'd spent my twenties bouncing, Tangled and more recently Soundcontrol.
I've been lucky to DJ with many of my idols such as Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff, Hybrid, Ashley Casselle.
30+ years on, now living in Cairns, Australia, I'm still hunting new sounds to share with anyone who will listen to this veteran of the bedroom DJ scene.
