Man Power's Me Me Me label presents debut release of New York-based Brazilian artist, Deo'Jorge this July, backed with remixes from Prins Thomas and Hardway Bros.

A well-known figure in New York’s infamous underground off-location party scene, Deo'Jorge also runs the international O/NDA event series, which moved to a virtual presence last year to keep people dancing through lockdown. A friend of Man Power's since first booking him to play a street party in Rio De Janeiro in the middle of the last decade, it seems only fitting that Me Me Me should get to present the artist's inaugural musical offering. His 'Robotic Souls' EP comes backed with remixes from two bonafide legends in the forms of Norwegian artist Prins Thomas and Hardway Bros, aka Sean Johnston of A Love From Outer Space notoriety.

'Sparking Plugs' begins the EP in Me Me Me's emblematic cosmic fashion as the revolving synths fuse delicately with the deep, swirling grooves before 'Do Androids Dream' bristles with otherworldly charm – floaty pads and exquisite drums balance together graciously. Up next, 'Pick Your Dead Self' continues the upbeat vibrancy with dynamic drums and dreamy atmospheres taking the focus whilst the prolific artist Prins Thomas' remix of 'Sparking Plugs' adds simmering arpeggios and chugging melodies to this space disco interpretation. UK's Sean Johnston, renowned for his work with the late Andrew Weatherall under the A Love From Outer Space guise, rounds off proceedings with beautifully throbbing sub-bass, classy melodies and echoing dub effects that provide warmth and blissfulness.

GUN (Grim Up North), the new alias of Newcastle mainstay Peter Wilson, aka one-half of People Get Real, debuts on Me Me Me this August with 'The Reef' EP featuring remixes from REES & Sahar, Fall Forward & Grainger and Kiaki. Over many years as People Get Real, Wilson has established himself as one of house and disco's most assured and accomplished DJ and production duos. He has played at various major clubs and festivals globally, has served up a wealth of club-ready weapons on his co-founded Join Our Club label, and now branches out with something just as vital under the new alias, GUN. Opener 'El Carbonara' is an eight-minute, acid-laced mind melter. The pressurised drums, warped synths and jacked-up drums chug along with an inviting rawness that will make a significant impact. First to remix are two of the North East's latest rising stars: Middlesborough's very own REES & Sahar join to significant effect to flip 'El Carbonara' into a more unhinged and spaced out track with wonky grooves and tripped out fx. Next up is the fantastic 'The Reef (BeefMix),' a heavy, off-balance house cut with rugged textures, blissed-out pianos for hands in the air moments and plenty of subtle euphoria in the lush pads. The same tune gets a standout Acid Dub the layers in the 303 and allows it to run wild and take dancers to another level. Fresh off the back of a Beatport Electro Chart-topper, Fall Forward & Grainger once again impress with their remix of 'The Reef.' Powered by a fat, twisted bassline and with big old-school piano stabs, it is celebratory and uplifting in tasteful and effective ways. GUN's 'Boput' slows things down to a tense and paranoid crawl, crashing hits and drums for a dark atmosphere. Prickly acid, jacked-up percussion and modulated synths all add fryer colour and detail to this backroom classic. Last of all comes a remix from Kiaki, a brand new artist and young talent who will release a full debut on this label later in the year. His version is a leggy and shadowy, industrial-tinged dark disco groove with angular drums and tension in the synths. GUN ‘The Reef’ is out on Me Me Me Recordings on 13th August 2021.

Me Me Me celebrates its 5th anniversary with a double EP release from
label boss Man Power.

The eclectic imprint, known for output from Juan Maclean, Club Tularosa, Austin Ato, Vyvyan and Shit Robot, drops its first split EP release, with ‘Sorted’ on 24th September and ‘Monkey’ on 8th October.

Man Power’s first release for Me Me Me label since 2019, ‘Sorted’ marks the first of two EPs for the label’s 5th Anniversary, recruiting North East England artists Dharma and Beyonders for remix duties across both releases. 

On ‘Sorted’, the first of the two EPs, Man Power draws for a raucous cacophony of sirens on the title cut, with a heaving low-end and dense breakbeats providing the backdrop for anthemic vocal slices towards the end of the track.

Fresh from Permanent Vacation’s recently released ‘Permanent Vacation 7’ compilation, Dharma returns to Me Me Me with a remix that twists the original into an emotive and perpetually building piece of late-night euphoria. Rounding out the release is ‘Glossolalia’, which sees a tumbling acid line colliding with rowdy drums as tweaked out organ-esque drones pulsate throughout.

Part 1 of Me Me Me’s 5th Anniversary release ‘Sorted’ drops on 24th September.

Following on from her debut release on Mella Dee's Warehouse Music, Cici provides Man Power’s Me Me Me with four tracks of varied techno for her second release. Incorporating elements of groovy, percussive house through to hypnotic acid-techno grooves, the EP also features remixes from LA’s Warehouse Preservation Society and Philadelphias’ Zillas On Acid.

Leading the EP is the pumping ‘Indigenous’, with subtle, enveloping pads unfurling to make way for ethereal synths under knocking drums before the A2, ‘Venus’ brings the energy up by delivering a snaking bassline under sharp, grooving percussion and heavily tripped out vocals.

Two remixes of ‘Venus’ follow, with Warehouse Preservation Society adding choppy breakbeats and wonky leads and Zillas on Acid injecting funky basslines and dubbed-out chops before the ‘Techno’ and ‘Deepr’ mixes of ‘Changeling’ close out the release. The former opts for heaving drum machines and rolling samples while the latter leans for heads down territory as the hypnotic groove carries the listener off into the night.

Cici ‘CCMMMXXIX’ drops on 8th April via Me Me Me.

Mathias Schaffhäuser Artist Bio:

Mathias Schaffhäuser has been on the techno, house and minimal scene since 1994 when his first House EP was released on Definitive Records. 25 years later he is still at. 
In the first quarter of 2021, he already was part of 2 cool remix projects, one for Si Begg's impressive remix series „Peripheral Original Motion Picture Soundtrack: Remixed“, and one for Öona Dahl and Hallucienda Records. 

In 2020, Mathias' label WARE released its catalogue number 100. To celebrate this anniversary Mathias released the EP "A Hundred Acts Of Devotion" with 5 new tracks. October 2020 saw the release of „On The Brink, Vol. 1“, the first remix EP of FANATICO's 2nd album, featuring Man Power, Amir Alexander, Warehouse Preservation Society, Indoor Man and Ulysses on remix duty.

2019 saw the sophomore release from his Fanatico project 'Love And Dancing On The Brink' on Hallucienda in November (vinyl and CD in January 2020), as well as the September release of his new album 'Hedonism, What Else' on Snork Enterprises, new EPs on Fenou, Biotop Label and Ware Records, and several remixes. 

In 2018 there was already a reason to celebrate: The 20th jubilee of WARE was honoured with 3 releases featuring reworked and remixed Ware classics like „Nice To Meet You“ and „Desire“. Also 3 more EPs on Tiefschwarz' Souvenir Music, legendary British label Third Ear, and Biotop Label came out in 2018.

Other releases from Mathias have appeared on Mo's Ferry Productions, Compost, Tic Tac Toe Rec., Kompakt, Force Inc., Multicolor, BluFin Records, Adjunct, WIR Recordings, Blaou Sounds and many others. In 1997 he started WARE, releasing 99 EPs as of April 2019. His album Lido Hotel with the well known track Nice To Meet You, released in 2000, marked his breakthrough in the techno scene. 2001 saw his massive club hit Hey Little Girl, and in 2002 Musik ohne Bass permeated the clubs. In April 2005 he released his album Coincidance, its title track successfully remixed by Trentemøller. On his album Unequal Equality (2009) Mathias collaborated with Lucy, Alex Smoke, Xhin, And.id, Benjamin Brunn and many others. He also produced remixes for Steve Bug (LoverBoy), Luomo (Tessio), Faust, [A]pendics.Shuffle, Goldfrapp, Pan-Pot, Indoor Life, Northern Lite, Dapayk & Padberg – to name a few.

As DJ, Schaffhäuser’s motto at the turntables is: “Purism sucks!” The quality of the music is what’s important, not sheer functionality and trendiness. At times his sets can be rather varied from his very own style, dirty + dark house, and thumping techno.
