In 1981, Ted Neeley reunited with former HAIR cast-mate Meat Loaf, recording background vocals on his "Bat Out of Hell" follow-up, "Dead Ringer." He continued his role on the tour that followed and co-wrote the single "If You Really Want To" from Meat's next album "Midnight at the Lost and Found." Though his time with the Neverland Express was short-lived, he did manage to perform some previously unheard Jim Steinman material from his long-gestating "Neverland" musical. Before his passing, Jim called Ted "a monumental talent." In honor of that collaboration, here is the song with which Ted opened many shows on that tour as a curtain-raiser for Meat's entrance.

After his appearance 30 years ago on Stars In Their Eyes performing as Meat Loaf, Steve Steinman has developed a wide array of original tracks in tribute of his hero, and has gone on the road extensively, touring with his band, starring in the Meat Loaf story, Anything For Love (at The London Palladium and elsewhere) and creating his own rock opera, Vampires Rock.

Nick caught up with him to discuss his debut album, Take A Leap Of Faith, and life on the road.

Verse 4:
Greed is the bleak motif, of thieves and fiends, obese elites who each compete
To heave heaps of steel with no relief, no reprieve, only grief, fatigue guaranteed

They grit their teeth and crease their cheeks, their speech is weak from obscene beliefs

Since then the show has evolved as an online showcase for actors, musicians, journalists, authors, script writers, stand-up comedians and more - all in the form of in-depth one-to-one interviews - all fully illustrated with archive audio & music. These are independent podcasts produced to the highest professional standards and non-profit making/also unhindered by advertising. Nick himself describes SNS Online as an 'audio love letter' to all who take part. But don't take his word for it - dive in!

- SNS Online's Nick Randell has worked in radio/TV sound for 30 years at the BBC. He has also presented for the BBC World Service - 'Pop Phrases' (a 20 part BBC English series), the UK top ten for the Azeri stream (in English, not Azeri!), radio packages for numerous BBC regions/World Service, and finally, Irish national, RTÉ (four series of weekly hour shows - music/features/guests Weds 7-8pm).
