N°84 La Mega Drive & Shenron Part 2

Here is a cover of the Street Of Rage 2 theme ‘S.O.R Super Remix’ composed by Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima.


I tried to stay as close to the original material as possible while modernising or accentuating certain instruments and giving this composition a darker feel.

- Solina (pads)

Made a second attempt of this song back in 2019, but some years later it dawned on me that I only ever saved it as an MP3 and not anything higher, so that made me REAL tempted to try overhauling it for the longest time.

Well now I have, now that I have far more experience with FL Studio, and especially since I uncovered where I had saved the original FL file from back when I was using the trial (so I couldn't open it before, thank GOD I even thought to save it at all given the circumstances!)

Midi originally sequenced by A-S-H, and even more instruments and arrangements were added on top of it. In fact, this time around I've thrown in some pitch sliding, mixed in the crisis theme from Courage the Cowardly dog, the baseline from Rainbow Mika's theme in Street Fighter Alpha 3, soundfont and all, and the melody from Kirby Super Star's True Arena.

Visuals are my main forte, but I've recently picked up on making video game BGM arrangements for my upcoming videos.

And I say that loosely since most of them are built with pre-existing midis and game soundfonts and samples. I will not be making a profit off these as a result, but I'll usually work to arrange the sequences from there, often making it a point to have the instrumentation hit as hard as I can muster.

Before I stopped using tumblr, I would usually just upload these there, but I think I've come along pretty well since then.
