BSV: Hello there and thanks for the submission! How did you find us? Google of your “Resilient” track maybe? 😉
ES.KA: I know your channel for a long time since we are supporting each other and l thought it would be a great opportunity to promote new project “Above Us“ 🙂

BSV: From progressive to melodic techno, from dark to hard techno. What’s your range in electronic music?
ES.KA: For my single project it’s something between melodic techno and peak time techno. Above Us aims for a more melodic and deeper sound like I used to play some years ago.

BSV: If we listen your production, it translates into “Eyes Wide Shut” feeling (sounds from the movie). That was your goal?
ES.KA: /

BSV: Tell us something about Illusions @ Haus33. What’s the concept?
ES.KA: Illusions is a melodic techno / peak time techno event which distinguish itself from other events at Haus33 by sticking to slower styles of techno instead of playing mostly hard techno like other events do.  

BSV: We found the info on Beatport about your first ever track (2021). How did you get in electronic music? When was that?
ES.KA: I started DJing 6 years ago in melodic and deep techno genre. In 2021 I decided that I want to make my own music which I can perform in clubs.

BSV: What’s behind your DJ duo artist name (meaning)?
ES.KA: It conveys the meaning that the music is always above us. We found that it has a good sound to it and we we're aiming for a two word name.

BSV: Is there maybe some interesting story about how you guys decided to do music together? Let us know about your long term goals…
ES.KA: The funny thing is that we know each other since we were kids. Didn't have contact at all for about 25 years and figured out that we are both into electronic music. Each of us in own project. So we decided to create something together. Long term goals would be getting in touch and getting collabs with more established artists and playing more shows.

Denny S steht seit fast 30 Jahren hinterm Mischpult und hat schon so manche House-, Techno- und Trancephase miterlebt. Doch eins ist ihm stets auf seinem langen Weg als Raver und vor allem als DJ treu geblieben, die Melodie, denn ohne geht eigentlich nichts in seinen Sets. Eintönigkeit und Belanglosigkeit in Tracks mag er so gar nicht. Es muss was passieren, was ihn kitzelt. 

Nachdem sich die Tanz- & Firlefanz-Crew 2019 zurückzog, schloss er sich der Zwischenmiete-Crew an, die regelmäßig das Artheater mit melodischen Klängen und ihrer wunderschönen Deko und Herzlichkeit verzaubert. Wo wir beim Thema wären: Melodic Techno – dafür schlägt Dennys Herz, denn genau da sind die Elemente der elektronischen Musik drin, die für ihn den Kitzel ergeben und die für ihn die Musik ein ums andere Mal zu einem echten Lebenselixier werden lassen. 

Denny S has been standing behind the mixing desk since almost 30 years and has experienced some house, techno and trance phases. But one thing is always true to him on his long way as raver and especially as DJ, the melody, because without it nothing in his sets works. Monotony and triviality in tracks, he doesn't like it at all. Something has to happen to make him tickles somehow. After the Tanz- & Firlefanz-Crew retired in 2019, he joined the Zwischenmiete-Crew, who regularly opened the Artheater with melodic electronic music and their beautiful decoration and cordiality enchanted. Which brings us to the subject: Melodic techno - that's what Denny's heart beats for.
