میں مدینے میں ہوں تنہا مرے بھیا اکبر


دل کی ویران حویلی میں چمن کِھل جائے
تیری اس بہنا کو اے بھائی سکوں مل جائے
دیکھ لوں جو ترا سہرا مرے بھیا اکبر

عمر میری تجھے لگ جائے دعا کرتی ہوں
روز فرقت میں تری جیتی ہوں میں مرتی ہوں
بِن ترے کیا کرے دُکھیا مرے بھیا اکبر 

جب بھی سنتی ہے مدینے میں اذاں تیری بہن
دل یہ کہتا ہے کہ لوٹ آؤ گے تم سوئے وطن
یاد کرتا ہے مدینہ مرے بھیا اکبر 

خواب دیکھا ہے عجب خواب کی تعبیر نہ ہو
زخمی نیزے سے خدارا بنِ شبیر نہ ہو
روز کرتی ہوں یہ نوحہ مرے بھیا اکبر

کیا بتاؤں کہ مری جان بھی گھبراتی ہے
بارہا صغریٰ تری صحن میں ڈر جاتی ہے
دیکھ کر اپنا بھی سایہ مرے بھیا اکبر

خط جو بھیجا ہے جواب اس کا سنانا مجھ کو
یاد کرتا نہیں کیا میرا گھرانہ مجھ کو
کیسی ہے میری سکینہ مرے بھیا اکبر 

یاد بہنا کی نہیں آئی تمہیں کیا اک بار
مضطرب ہوں میں مدینے میں مرے دل کے قرار
یاد ہے کیا مرا چہرہ مرے بھیا اکبر 

حالتِ فاطمہ صغری بھلا کیا لکھے جری
در پہ بیٹھی یہی کہتی تھی علی کی پوتی
مرے بھیا مرے بھیا مرے بھیا اکبر





This noha reflects the heart-wrenching emotions of Bibi Fatima Sughra (S.A.), who was left behind in Medina during the tragic events of Karbala due to illness. Her beloved brother, Ali Akbar (A.S.), went to the battlefield, while she remained alone, emotionally shattered and longing for his return. In the noha, she repeatedly calls out to her brother, expressing the deep pain of separation, her unfulfilled wish to witness his wedding, and the loneliness that surrounds her in his absence. The sound of the adhan (call to prayer) brings her momentary hope that perhaps he will come back. She shares a terrifying dream and pleads to God that it not be a sign of his martyrdom. She wonders why he hasn’t replied to her letter and anxiously asks about the well-being of Bibi Sakina (S.A.). The noha ends with her heartbroken repetition of “Mere Bhaiya Akbar,” a cry filled with longing and sorrow. This noha is not merely a sister’s grief—it is a profound portrayal of Karbala’s pain, loss, and emotional devastation, captured through the voice of a daughter of Hussain left behind
