I try to approach the idea of using themes in 2 very different ways in these 2 movements.  Part I is more conventional and based on a traditional-style 8-bar melody, varied and developed in numerous different ways.  Part II is based on 5 more fragmented themes, combined in different ways at different points.  It's also more exploratory, and includes my most extensive and integrated use of microtonality to date.

The four verses of a chorale from the Saint Matthew's Passion undergo a transformation from nearly in tune (12ed1220c) and crystal clear to out of tune (12ed1280) and reverb saturated. An experiment in working with slight variants of 12ed1200 (12edo) tunings.

“Gömülü Orman” (Buried Forest) is my first string quartet and the fifth piece of my song cycle; “FFG”. The cycle consists of several works that use metaphors and ambient representations to illustrate my journey through composition. “Gömülü Orman” is the story's dark, abysmal, and lively underground section. It explores the themes of megalophobia, isolation, alternative realities, nature, acceptance, and most importantly, mass exploration.

"Gömülü Orman" represents a vast landscape of exploration for me. The entire composition is built around microtonality (24TET), where I explore various techniques of employing microtonal structures, ranging from functional and extended harmony to scale-based systems. The piece also emphasizes timbral composition and spectral qualities. With its odd, unconventional tonal space, I seek to create a unique, rich auditory experience.

My name is Adir Oudaei and I am a composer for film, television, games, and media. My musical voice blends orchestral writing with electronic textures, expressive guitar colors, and Middle Eastern influences—crafting emotionally grounded scores that support storytelling across genres.

Originally from Israel and now based in Budapest, I began my journey as a guitarist in a metal band—an experience that still shapes my approach to rhythm, texture, and sonic identity. My compositions often explore distinctive rhythmic patterns and polyrhythms, aiming to create bold and emotionally resonant sound worlds.

I hold a B.A. in Cross-Disciplinary Composition from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, where I studied with Zohar Sharon, Josef Bardanashvili, and Amit Weiner. I am currently pursuing an M.A. in Composition for Media and have recently continued my studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest with Bella Máté and Balázs Ádám.

My work has been recognized with the 2024 Dean's Prize from the Faculty of Cross-Disciplinary Music and an Honorable Mention in the Prof. Haim Alexander Composition Competition. I have collaborated with GRAMMY-winning and Emmy-nominated composer Sharon Farber, contributing arrangements for concert and media projects. My scores include The Shelter, among other upcoming films.

I integrate guitar, piano, synthesizers, and oud into my scoring process, blending acoustic and electronic elements to shape a unique sonic identity for each project. I work fluently in Cubase and Sibelius, with additional experience in Logic Pro and Ableton Live. I have taught Cubase at the Jerusalem Academy and continue to offer private lessons in guitar, composition, and production.

I graduated from Eskişehir Conservatory with a degree in piano. Now, this is my 2nd year in the Bilkent Composition Department. I also work on the university's radio. I usually create my compositions in different styles and cultures. Sometimes they are short-movie or game soundtracks, sometimes they are simply techno or breakcore. I enjoy this/creating various kinds of music so much that I ignore the probability of hurting my career at some point...
