fusion of techno's darkest depths and its brightest lights, enriched with modern sound design, hypnotic rhythms, and deep elements that possess a cerebral appeal. Midnight Traffic's productions are often designed to draw listeners into a trance-like state, transcending time and space. 

With almost a decade of honing his craft in the studio, Midnight Traffic’s catalog comprises several notable EPs on India-based Qilla Records, an EP on Italian label The God’s Planet, a collaborative EP with Qilla Records founder, Kohra on Berlin-based Charybdis Records, along with several independent releases on Bandcamp as well.

As a DJ, Midnight Traffic’s sets tend to lean towards the more fast-paced, hypnotic end of the spectrum, with the intention of creating a cohesive sonic journey that transports listeners to the nth dimension. The last few years have seen him grace renowned venues and festivals like Echoes of Earth & DGTL in India, Lapita festival in Japan, and a remarkable Boiler Room Debut in 2022, to name a few.

Art Bei Ton Podcast 121: Midnight Traffic

This was a special set for me. Although this set was fully improvised, I have been wanting to spin a deep and hypnotic set like this for a long time!

In addition to this deep and hypnotic sound, I also experimented with new visual techniques during the stream. My goal was to create a subtle, immersive, and mysterious atmosphere that commands silence, generates suspense, and encourages introspection.

Don't speak. Just listen. Focus. Breathe. Release. Drift. Explore.

Kahu embodies the Hawaiian essence of its name—guardian, protector, and safe keeper of something precious. Ethereal melodies and fuel-efficient percussions create a rhythmic flow, balancing intimacy with expansiveness. Textured synth lines shape a dreamlike space, where fleeting chants drift through a pulsing percussive heartbeat, evoking the spirit of an ancient ritual reimagined through modern sound.

Taksu channels the radiant energy of presence, where spiritual strength and creativity converge in motion. Intricate textures and spiraling synth motifs guide the track forward, carrying the natural rhythm of existence. Rich sonic layers invite deep immersion, dissolving the boundary between listener and sound.

Both pieces embody their namesakes not through description but through experience—felt, heard, and carried forward.

Kohra and Midnight Traffic are making their Crescent debut with a genre-bending EP that pushes boundaries. Rooted in the Goa-inspired trance that defines their sound, the release weaves through hypnotic rhythms and evolving textures.

From the electro-infused, syncopated energy of "Tantrik" and "Daaku" to the deep, rolling psychedelia of "Aghori" and "Mukti", this EP is a journey through movement and mind-expansion.

My BloodMoon stream was a bit different from my regular streams as it heavily focused on creating an immersive audio and visual experience. Unique visuals were available for this stream and everything from the lights in my rooms to overlays on the visuals had a matching deep red hue to celebrate the Blood Moon eclipse.

Art Bei Ton is an artistic project focusing on merging electronic music and visual arts, though the promotion of events, podcast series and a label.

Curating international artists, we want to embrace more inclusivity in the scene through the promotion of diverse and gender-balanced line ups. It is important for us to highlight female artists, queer actors of our community and fight together against all kinds of discrimination.
