2025 marque 10 ans de fermeture et de militarisation des frontières intérieures de l'Europe.
Dix ans de fermeture, ce sont aussi dix ans de luttes. Dix ans de rencontres, de solidarités, de résistances — des trajectoires individuelles, mais aussi des chemins collectifs.
Aujourd’hui, nous sommes ici non pas pour faire un bilan exhaustif — ce serait impossible — mais pour brosser ensemble un tableau vivant de ce que fut, et de ce qu’est toujours, la solidarité à la frontière. Un tableau fait de fragments, de récits, avec des personnes très différentes, mais toutes indispensables. Dans cette deuxième partie d'émission nous allons rencontrer ces personnes, entendre leurs voix, leurs mémoires, leurs engagements.

Comment décoloniser l'agriculture, et plus particulièrement les semences ? 
C'est un sujet naissant auquel travaillent quelques collectifs, paysans et chercheur.euses. 
Il s'agit de d'assumer le prolongement des rapports coloniaux dans notre système agricole et alimentaire actuel. Il s'agit de rapprocher les luttes antiracistes, les questions liées à l’exil et les semences. Il s'agit de construire des solidarités, des circulations entre les peuples, avec les diasporas et les personnes en exil à travers les pratiques agricoles et le déploiement des semences paysannes.

Dans cette émissions nous échangeons autour de ces sujets avec :

In this episode, Julie Ward, former MEP with a background in activism, talks about the Durham-based 'No To Hassockfield' campaign. Hassockfield is the site of an Immigration Removal Centre and the campaign was fighting for its closure, uses creative arts as a powerful tool to raise awareness of the harms caused by asylum detention and the need to provide community alternatives, whilst also providing a culture of care for the campaigners. 

This presentation was recorded at the UNESCO RIELA Spring School: The Arts of Integrating 2025. This event gets hosted annually in person in Glasgow, Scotland in May and online in October. The next edition is due on 27-31 October 2025.

In Venezuela rief der 1998 erstmals gewählte Präsident Hugo Chávez den »Sozialismus des 21. Jahrhunderts« aus – eine gesellschaftliche Utopie, deren Umsetzung zumindest zeitweise zu gelingen schien. Elemente direkter Demokratie und staatliche Planung sollten weiten Teilen der Bevölkerung einen Lebensstandard sichern, der Zugang zu Bildung Gesundheit und politischer Beteiligung umfasste.

Nach dem Tod von Chávez und dem Einbruch der Erdölpreise geriet Venezuela in die schwerste Krise seiner Geschichte. Spätestens mit der umstrittenen Wiederwahl des Chávez-Nachfolger Nicolás Maduro im vergangenen Sommer, gilt das »Modell Venezuela« vielen als gescheitert.

Der Politikwissenschaftler und Journalist Tobias Lambert stellte im Juli in Freiburg sein Buch »Gescheiterte Utopie? Venezuela ein Jahrzehnt nach Hugo Chávez vor«. Und er geht der Frage nach, wie es zu diesem ungeheuren wirtschaftlichen, sozialen und politischen Niedergang kommen konnte.

Die thematische Vielfalt der August-Sendung ist groß, denn wir blicken in drei völlig unterschiedliche Regionen der Welt mit ganz unterschiedlichen Problemlagen.
Zunächst wollen wir nach Gaza schauen, wo sie die Situation für die Zivilbevölkerung in den letzten Monaten immer mehr zugespitzt hat. Anuk hat sich darüber mit Ralf Südhof vom Center for Humanitarian Action unterhalten.

Antonia hat sich mit den Protesten der jungen Generation Kenias beschäftigt. Die so genannte Gen Z ging zunächst gegen die ungerechte Steuerpolitik auf die Straßen, dann auch für einen ganz allgemeinen Politikwechsel in Kenia. Dabei wurde sie teilweise sehr brutal und auch mit Todesfällen von der Polizei bekämpft.

Und unser Kollege David Graaf sprach mit dem Journalisten Tobias Lambert im Rahmen dessen Freiburg Besuchs über sein Buch „Gescheiterte Utopie? Venezuela ein Jahrzehnt nach Hugo Chavez“.

Tichys Einblick wollte wissen: Wäre Kurz heute noch Kanzler, wenn er nicht mit den Grünen koaliert hätte? Warum gründet Kurz nicht in Europa sondern in Israel? Und weshalb schafft die Politik es bis heute nicht die Krisen Europas – Migration, Wirtschaftsschwäche – zu lösen?

We follow how deportation policy has evolved, expanding massively in the aftermaths of World War One and World War Two, while shifting its main targets -- from political radicals and dissidents, to organized criminals, to "undesirable" racial and ethnic groups including Asians and Mexicans. We examine the changing laws and judicial rulings that have carved out an exception for deportation, allowing the government nearly unlimited and unchecked power, with no recourse to the protections of the Bill of Rights -- and finally, we consider how the Trump administration's recent failed attempts to deport supporters of the Palestinian cause might lead to a small crack in the wall sealing the deportation process off from the courts and the Constitution.

An education specialist who left Somalia as a child when the civil war broke out in 1991 has now returned to support the Ministry of Education as they expand national testing.  

The programme which enabled this specialist, named Shire Salad, to return — Migration for Development in Africa or MIDA — is run by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and recruits diaspora experts who have  a “personal desire to give back."  

MIDA then pairs these experts with local professionals who work together to advance the development of hospitals, schools and other institutions. While the diaspora experts ultimately leave, the hope is that their skills will remain.  

UN News’ Naima Sawaya spoke with Mr. Salad about his experience returning to Somalia after so many years.
