Encounter (Jazz Drums Mix)

The vocal (recorded on a phone) was a random find on a music sharing website. I wasn't familiar with the song it came from. Only after producing this track did I happen to hear the original over the radio on a bus trip in Spain. I hope Ed doesn't mind.

本作は、過去／現在、録音／演奏、アナログ／デジタルのあわいに現れては消える境界を描く試みです。

佐世保の地に響く音をループに編み直し、カセットテープに再録することで揺らぎとテクスチャーを刻みました。その上で、波の音像を意識したウィンドシンセを即興演奏し、海のリズムと呼吸とを交差させています。
画面上での音響処理は最小限にとどめ、偶然性やその場で鳴る音を要素として取り入れています。

揺らめく響きは、境界を横断しながら耳の奥に新しい風景を描き出します。
それは、かつてそこにあったかもしれない佐世保の姿であり、これから訪れるはずの静かな物語でもあります。

This work seeks to trace the fleeting boundaries that emerge and dissolve between past and present, recording and performance, analog and digital.

Sounds resonating in Sasebo are restructured into loops and re-recorded onto cassette tape, inscribing subtle fluctuations and textures. Layered upon this is the improvisation of a wind synthesizer, shaped by the image of waves, where the rhythm of the sea intersects with the rhythm of breath.
Digital processing was kept to a minimum, allowing chance occurrences and the immediacy of sound in the moment to become integral elements.

The shimmering resonance crosses boundaries, sketching new landscapes deep within the ear.
It is both an echo of Sasebo as it might once have been, and a quiet story yet to arrive.

Immersive love is a nostalgic tribute to the times of 2000s and the Netlabel scene. Back then independent musicians and music producers, used the internet to distribute their music without the intention of making a profit. They allowed other artists to use their music for free, which allowed them to express themselves without the constraints of the music industry. This passion for music-making spread to other musicians and listeners, leading to the formation of a network of labels and blogs that formed communities of individuals who created, shared, reviewed, and published the music of independent artists. However, the rise of social media and streaming platforms with algorithmic models led to a decrease in creative freedom and marked the end of this period.

R D V O aka Ridivo is born and raised on the raw, urban border of south Luxembourg.  
Influenced and inspired in his youth by mindfull Hip Hop - Rap, Affro- beats, percussive african tribal rhytms and mystical eastern melodies. 
His mucial journey lead him dig deeper into uncommon diverse genres, find interesting more fullfilling and special sounds to express himself and share his own idea of tastefull music to a openminded culture .   
When 2017 he found place in Luxembourg's electronic underground szene and found new passion.

Inspired from Luxembourgish artist like Alex Heide, Riven, Sami Dilla, OWSLEY or CHICH he passed trough melodic progressive Techno & House to the latest Minimal/Deep Tech to modern driving rhytmic Techno, 
R D V O gathered colorfull musical experience from the events he played for Luxembourg's most influencial labels like 
”Lauter Unfug , ”WILD SIDE“ and ”Tip Til“ and so has earned a place as resident DJ in underground clubs Like ”ROOM“ and "GROUND Luxembourg" 
He played alongside several big artists like "Thomas Schumacher", "Jeff Mills" , "The Advent" aswell as "Traumer" or "Kaiser Souzai". 

RDVO is delivering an individual and mindfull track selection. 
Mystical , emotional, percussive , rhytmic ,repetitive, 
changing between diverse styles, nuances and moods in a balanced harmonic way.
