Forever Fifteen - Comedy

As Jenny and I sat in the hospital with my mom in April 2005, she passed. To clear my mind, and being that it was in the weeee hours of the morning, I went to find coffee.

Some older lady, who I did not know and I bumped into, gave me her "condolences" and said something to the effect of "Such a tragedy; I hope she found eternity". I said nothing but thanks and gritted my teeth. I'm sure she meant well but it wasn't really what I wanted to hear.

I was, of course, not real happy with God at the moment for obvious reasons. 

Anyway, the lyrics to this song came from all that, as I wrote them in my head on the way home a week or so later, driving north on I-81, in southern VA.

I had tried to do this song several times over the years, but it never turned out right. This one though seems to fit.

Mom and I are roughly the same age now as when all this happened (her 61, me 59), and I think of this all the time.
