Meet Qui$-III, the 27-year old rapper from Mobile, Alabama that mixes and masters his own music. Never one to be average, Qui$-III goes above and beyond to combine raw emotion with hypnotic melodies with aggressive undertones. Observing his lyrics, its quite clear that Qui$-III is above average as far as bars and delivery are concerned. Many of his songs feature another very talented musician, @delvontemusic, who is also his cousin by blood. Delvonte produces a large percentage of Qui$-III’s music and is not to be taken lightly by any means. Ride with Qui$-III as he takes you on a euphoric trip you'll never forget with songs like “Chillin” and “Change”.

Garry C. Lumbers was born in Mobile Alabama in 1957.  He’s the great-great grandson of the late Cudjo Lewis, one of the last survivors of the Clotilda, the last recorded slave ship to the United States which arrived in 1860. He joins The Source to discuss the history behind Clotilda, his great-great grandfather, and his goal to reunite “Africatown”-  a community in Mobile Alabama where his great-great grandfather and other survivors of the Clotilda settled and made their home after they realized there was no way for them to get back home to Africa after they were freed.
