Hurricane – a gwaan hype!!!

The Bayreuth sound - winner of the German Reggae Award 2005 and the fifth best German soundsystem 2008 (Riddim reader´s award) - is one of the most in demand sounds of Southern Germany and can boast more than 250 performances. No matter whether at mega events such as Splash! and Summerjam, in top German clubs like the Rude7 or the U-Club, abroad in Italy or Belgium, or on the radio, the boys from Hurricane always deliver with their energetic performance.

In 2003, Dead Mike, Gardener, and E.N.S. founded the Hurricane Soundsystem and started their two popular regular parties “Bay-Root Bashment” in Nuremburg and “Dancehall X-Plosion” in Bayreuth, their hometown. Both events soon ranked amongst the hot spots for Reggae and Dancehall in Bavaria as well as the rest of Southern Germany.
Since August 2008 MC Rojah is the fourth member of the Hurricane crew.

Since inception, success arrived quickly for the Soundsystem with immediate bookings throughout Bavaria and the surrounding regions. They filled many festivals, parties and clubs in Southern and central Germany such as the Summerjam, the Sandboard World Cup, and Splash! with their unique sound.
Furthermore, the four were able to prove their skills abroad in Australia, Italy, Belgium, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland. In 2005 they won the German Reggae Award for ‘Best sound system’ and 2008 the readers of the "Riddim", the most important print-magazine for dancehall and reggae in Germany as well as in the world, voted Hurricane on the fifth place in the category "Best National Soundsystem".

Of course, the four “Hurricanes” aren’t only active on stage. Their mixed tapes: “Natural Disaster”, “Hot In The Club”, “High Voltage”, and the critically acclaimed “Danger Zone”, were sold nationwide. The tapes were also made available in Austria, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland where they have continued to sell well.

The boys’ music is frequently played on the radio. ‘Air play’ @ Jam FM (Germany’s premiere station for black music), Gong FM and Radio Galaxy all feature Hurricane on their playlists. They can be heard online too at radio stations such as Raggakings.net.

Hurricane view themselves as a sound system following the Jamaican model. It is not only about playing the hippest records but about a stage show where an “MC” or “Shouter” fuels the crowd, creating a connection between the DJ and the audience – the boys’ artistic flair is unmistakeable and is only matched by their energetic stage performance.

Jahrone is a Reggae and Dancehall DJ/MC outta Cologne, Germany. His style is in particular charaterized by versatility and his desire to entertain any massive with big tunes, i.e. selecting everything from rocksteady to brand new dancehall and occasionally mixing it with related genres such as Afrobeats, Hiphop etc. No matter at which dance he plays, Jahrone always makes sure that the dancefloor is packed all night long.

Starting juggling and organizing events in 2012 in his hometown he soon became a member of the famous „Rebel Sound“ from Hannover in 2013. Correspodingly, Jahrone is a resident DJ at the popular party series „Bigger Bashment“ which takes place every month in Hannover and Hildesheim repectively, the latter organized by himself. Together with Rebel Sound as well as a solo entertainer he played at parties and festivals all over Germany in cities like Hanover, Munich, Münster, Dortmund, Cologne, Bielefeld, Bersenbrück (Reggaejam festival) etc. alongside artits and sounds such as Gappy Ranks, General levy, Pow Pow Movement, Supertuff Sound, Deebuzz, Shashamane Intl., Robbo Ranx etc. But also internationally Jahrone is building up his reputation, e.g. in 2015 he performed at the popular street dance „Road Block“ in Port Antonio, Jamaica or at the Notting Hill Carnival in London, UK. 

Moreover, he is a tour manager/DJ for the German Dancehall/Reggae artist „Ganja Smoker“ Benjie and every second Thursday he entertains all Reggae and Dancehall lovers on air with the bi-weekly radio show „Rebellious Vibez“ by Rebel Sound on Radio Tonkuhle Hildesheim. In summer 2015 Jahrone moved to Cologne, a city with a huge Reggae and Dancehall massive. So stay tuned for what the future brings.

Lion’s Den is a label, a sound system, a studio and a production and promotion force from Berlin, Germany.

Started by the musical activist Ras Lion a few years ago Lion’s Den has constantly been moving forward on all aspects of delivering finest in conscious music ever since – in the studio, on vinyl or at a dance.
Always on a musical mission to merge creative energies – connecting different people, different influences and inspiration – Lion’s Den is working with various vocalists, musicians and producers from all over the world.

The record label is specialized in Dub, Steppas, Reggae, and other music in the same terrain on vinyl and digitally.

A fine selection of records, tuff dubs and conscious lyrics, some heavyweight speakerboxes and amplifiers and a deep love for the music combined provide for positive vibes and a special experience at any session near or far when Lion’s Den come with their sound – Ras Lion (selekta / operator / engineer), mostly joined on lyrical duties by the multilingual MCs/singers Kali Green and konTa or guests.

Die Reggae/Dancehall-Band aus Hannover sorgt für fette Grooves, tiefen Bass und gute Vibes, so daß die Dancehall kocht.
Als Vorband von Rebellion the Recaller, Jamaram, Skatalites, Mono und Nikitaman uva. war die Band u.a. auf dem Fährmannsfest, Weedbeat Festival etc zu hören. Seit 2005 ist die Band aktiv und veröffentlichte 2010 das Album „Inner Journey“. Momentan feilt die Band an vielen neuen Stücken, um demnächst ein neues Album zu veröffentlichen.
Wie der Name der Band unschwer zu erkennen gibt, setzt sich die Band in den Texten für Frieden ein, wobei aber auch alltägliche Themen und Party genug Platz im Programm der Peace Development Crew haben.

Sound Quake – Reggae Sound System
Founded in 1994, Sound Quake from Detmold/Germany is a true veteran to the European Reggae Scene. Since more than 20 years Sound Quake is known for quality juggling and is traveling as an ambassador in the name of reggae. The sound played in clubs and on festivals all over Europe, the UK and Russia as well as in Jamaica.

Sharing stages and rocking crowds with all the heavyweights of sound system history like: Bass Odyssey, Stone Love, David Rodigan, Renaissance Disco, Massive B, Killamanjaro, LP Int., One Love Hi Powa and many more.

Between 1997-2008 Sound Quake was an authority and a top-notch contender on the battlegrounds of the European clash arena collecting a nice amount of trophies over the years. In 2008 the crew decided to not play clashes anymore, but Sound Quake’s dub box is still deep like an ocean and is bringing straight excitement to any dance in the morning hours. 

With 22 years of experience on international stages, Sound Quake is rocking any crowd spreading Caribbean vibes galore - expect some quality juggling and musical joyride of all the latest and greatest of reggae and dancehall music!
