Dr Louis St.L O’Dea graduated from UCD Medicine in 1976. 

After finishing Internal Medicine training at McGill University, as well as the required board exams, Dr O’Dea continued his training at Harvard after securing a grant. Then, returning to McGill, he was appointed to faculty in Medicine, Endocrinology, and Obstetrics-Gynaecology.

Dr O’Dea formed a collaborative with the heads of the Radiology/Ultrasound and Ob-Gyn departments to start McGill’s first IVF unit.

Due to several reasons including personal health and 17 years of postgraduate training and practice, Dr O’Dea made a shift to an industry career, moving back to Boston and into biotech.

Recombinant proteins led to Dr O’Dea’s interest in making human and non-human therapeutic proteins by harnessing messenger RNA as a therapeutic itself. He has had several BioPharmaceutical appointments, held positions on many Boards and committees and has been a member of numerous Professional Associations.

He has produced approximately 40 original papers in peer-reviewed journals including NEJM, Am J Physiol, JCEM and Eur Heart J, 11 book chapters and 3 original patents, distributed between his academic and biotech tenures.

UCD MGA launched its Podcast Series - MGA Clinical Influencers - in 2022.

During this podcast series, graduates give us a trip down memory lane when describing their time at UCD (and on some occasions in other Schools of Medicine) and as junior doctors.

They discuss their stellar careers in their chosen speciailty and highlights and challenges during those careers, how they share their expertise and coach others. On a personal level, they will discuss how they manage a decent work life balance, where that is possible and books for us to enjoy and holiday locations we should be thinking about. No funky intro. This is a mini Obsession Session with a few sequences from OS III, except it's 75% smaller at about 80 minutes. It's a teaser for my second attempt at Obsession Sessions III. I felt like I could do better, and I'm upping the tracks from 60 to 80. So it will probably clock at six hours. We'll see. In the meantime, enjoy some EBM, Darkwave, Dark Disco, and Witch House.

I made my first basic edit in Rekordbox of Geistech's "Tried". Just moved some parts and gave it structure to fit better between the tracks before and after. Happy to hear feedback. I didn't chuck it into Logic Pro, but I'm going to give it a go. Maybe add some harmony.

Most of the other tracks were edited to smooth out the intro/ outro runways for smoother transitions. A lot of tracks in the dark genres aren't super beat-match friendly. It came out pretty close to how I wanted it to sound. Not perfect, but close to my goal!

All tracks are lossless. Comment, like, and share if you dig! Enjoy.

Also, if you like any of the tracks, I encourage you to buy them in lossless format and find a dark place to listen to it with a good sound system or a nice pair of headphones. These artists are giving us their soul so we can make it another day with that fleeting sense of inspiration; so be sure to buy their merch if you dig them and check out their shows/ events if you can!

As the son of a professional flamenco singer, Thomas has always been surrounded by music.  Exposure to flamenco influenced him because it has a dynamic range of emotions—from the "deep singing" style of cante hondo, to the more lively alegrias.  He has also worked in the corporate, independent, and online music industry for a number of years.  At one point he was a Content Manager for the Electronic Music genre at MP3.com, where he screened over 500 songs per day.  Exposure to a wide range of music explains the range of genres in his mixes—he uses whatever carries the mood.  From listening to Umm Kulthum's "Enta Omri" in his childhood, to New Wave and  Industrial as a teen, it became difficult for him to stick to one sound. Though vinyl was his original format of choice when he started in the 90s, the use of digital mixing has helped him better form soundscapes to expand your headspace.  Let him play with your moods for a spell.
