Hi, my name is Michelle Nadin. I'm learning how to play the guitar at 29 years old because I love writing songs about my faith journey.

Mondays is a raw and powerful ballad that captures the silent battle of living in a routine that drains the soul while yearning to walk in purpose. With aching honesty and soaring vocals, it paints the picture of a weary heart caught between survival and calling. Through coffee-stained mornings, tearful lunch breaks, and whispered prayers, it's a cry out to God for direction and a heartfelt anthem for anyone who knows they were made for more but haven’t found the way yet.

Long story short, I used to hate my job, but it turned out to be a blessing for me. Not only that, but God also used me in that place to be a blessing to others at my workplace.

During the time I was kind of mad and frustrated with God, I wrote this song as a way to sincerely and freely express my frustration to Him because I knew He would be the only one who would listen to me complain without judging me. And although this song is basically me complaining about something that actually turned out to be an AMAZING thing, now it's a reminder for me that God will always be there to listen to you in any situation.

We can be free to express ourselves to God because He wants a sincere and honest relationship with you. But in the end, we just need to keep walking forward in faith, and He will show us how He can turn bad things into something great.

On this episode we have a guest mix from a very talented artist, that has quickly made her name known in the Houston music scene. She is an amazing human and a very special person in my life. I introduce to you LAURA.

LAURA burst into Houston's House & Techno scene merely two years ago with a range of heavy hitting techno, groovy tech house, and even some classic house styles. Today, she is one of many forces seeding the underground techno culture in Houston. She has had the pleasure of bringing the community together at events such as SONOFUSE at Numbers Nightclub. A passion project of hers, LAURA built SONOFUSE with the mission to showcase quality local & regional talent in a supportive, safe and egoless environment. With a third SONOFUSE on the horizon, LAURA reflects back to where she started, dipping into some of those first songs she learned to play with. 

She is very proud and grateful to have had the chance to learn new skills, make music and memories with great people, and help grow our scene into something Houston truly deserves.

My name is Michelle Nadin, I'm 29 years old, and I live in the Dominican Republic.
I've been writing poems and songs since I was 6 years old. I wanted to be a super famous singer, but long story short, I recently decided that I only want to use my talent for writing and singing to glorify God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit—even if it's just for the 10 people who listen to these low-quality recordings made with my $50 mic from Amazon. Hahaha.

Also, at 29 years old, I finally decided to learn how to play the guitar (for real this time), so that explains my amateur guitar playing.

I just hope that through the lyrics of my songs, I can bring glory to God, share all the ups and downs of my faith journey, and hopefully, this can be a mechanism God uses to bless someone's life or a way He uses to tell you how much He loves you, cares for you, worries about you, and how He wants to have a pure and deep relationship with you—just as He has shown me and done with me.
